For how hard that motor must work to move that load, yes, I'd say that's a lot.

PS - it's actually front wheel drive not RWD like the listing says.

Well, it's not a lot of money and it's a good
looking unit.
However, the VW part is what would put me off!!
VW parts are VERY expensive!..if you can
find someone to fix it for you!! Dealerships don't
want to work on them !!

I just had transmission work done on my New Beetle.
The prices are equal to Ferrari parts..I'm NOT joking!!
German engineering!! NEVER again for me.

Neat unit. Too many miles for me. That unit has been driven all over the place. IMO, the drivetrain is wore out and you'll be on the hook to fix it all.

IIRC, that's the VR6 engine. I looked at a used 'bago version of the VW van Westphalia camper, with the same front end and drivetrain. I was told by a mechanic friend that they have problems with wear of the timing chain any time from about 120,000 miles on. The engine and transmission have to be separated to repair this, since it's located at the rear of the engine.... I was given a quick guesstimate of around $2k for the timing chain. Again IIRC, a re-man'ed tranny would be around $5K.

That's a lot of miles for any chassis under that load. I'd wonder if it has $$$$ mechanical problems that caused the PO to let it be repo'd. I sure wouldn't commit to it without doing a personal inspection as well as having a mechanic familiar with that generation of VW van go over it. Even that's no real guarantee that you won't need to spend major bucks soon.

If it's not now it will be with that many miles. If you look at the weight sheet 2 people with water and fuel it's almost over loaded.
The VW chassis is a different no sell item. If you look close at the pictures there is a lot of rust. If the cab over was sealed properly, you'll find water damage there.

Frankly, that's a lot of miles on any vehicle. My 2000 chevy truck has 180,000 and it's still a great truck but I wouldn't want to start out with that many unless they practically gave it to me. Even with diesel trucks how about the rest of the vehicle other than the motor.

That is nearly 25,000 miles a year, I would be it was riden hard and put away wet. Not for me either.

NADA shows a 21% price reduction for this mileage - net retail price is $11,360 - $13,691 - and most folks don;t seem to get the NADA price when selling.

If it was me and I liked this MH, I might pay $10,000 for it. Maybe - if... well, there are a lot of ifs.

Take that for what it's worth - you got this advice for free and it may be worth only what you paid for it.
