What is the largest motor home you can park at Yellowstone?

In general how limited would a 40 or 42 foot motor home be in getting into state or national parks?

At Fishing Bridge, the really big motorhomes end up on the last spaces at the end of the rows. There isn't a space behind them so they can fit.

The guy next to me was a 40 and he was not at the end of a row. We were midway down. There were a good half dozen 40 footers when we were there in our end of the loop and I only know of one in the end. From what I recall being said here is they wait until they see what they have coming in to decide where to put you. I am 35' and I never came close to the posts behind my site. Not did I stick out in front. I had room for my Jeep and a visitor vehicle on the other side of the rv.

When you are heading west?

We are planning our first trip to Yellowstone next summer. I read alot about Fishing Bridge being a "parking lot" so I don't know if we should stay in the park or out(West Yellowstone). We will have a vehicle to get around to the sites. We'll be traveling w/ kids under 10. All help/comments would be appreciated.

I understand that Fishing Bridge is not going to have electricity this year, you might want to check on that. We stayed in Colter Bay for several nights, then moved to Grizzly in West Yellowstone for several more. We used Colter Bay as a base for the Tetons and the South end of Yellowstone, then grizzly for the West and North areas. I would have liked to stay inside the Park, but DW isn't much for boondocking, so we really need full hookups. Colter Bay is absolutley beautiful, you can walk down to the lake in the evening and sit on the bank while the mule deer come down for water. Grizzly is one of the nicest campgrounds we've even used. Clean, well maintained and friendly people.

We made our Fishing Bridge reservations for the last week in July. Were in a 37' w/ 16' toad, so we are still debating of coming in on Beartooth Hwy or thru Gardiner.

I've stayed at Fishing Bridge twice, Flagg Ranch, Grizzly in W. Yellowstone and Colter Bay. Fishing Bridge is a little more convenient, but we enjoyed it at every place we have stayed. Lots of driving no matter where you stay. Hook-ups make life easier for us, so we always stay where we can get them.

Just made a reservation there yesterday. They charged me $31 and change for the first night.
