We have been camping with friends a few times and brought along our fold up camp chairs with the built-in cup holders. This served the purpose, but I wouldn't say they were very comfortable. We just bought our first travel trailer (last weekend - yay! ) and will be camping quite a lot starting in the spring. So I'm thinking there has to be a better option for chairs, right?
Thanks!

There are quite a few options....depending on how much you want to spend, and where you plan to stow the chairs when not in use.
I'd recommend going to an outdoor store, and checking to see what they have that is comfortable, and meets your other criteria. We got ours at Walmart, but then don't spend hours sitting outside, so we're fine with the mid-price ($10-15) fold up chairs. DW has one with a footrest though.....hey, when Momma is happy...
I've seen some people who bring along a hammock....it just depends on how much "comfort" you want?

We have two of these. We've had them about 3 years now and still love them.
My in-laws purchased some of these. They love them and wouldn't trade them for anything. They've had theirs for 2 years now.
And this last Spring we picked up a couple more of these. We like them also, but not as much as the older ones.

"These" referred to above is also what we use, though they are a bit heavy and bulky when folded. Just can't beat them for comfort. I have lots of room in the back of the pickup so that is where they are transported. If you don't have plenty of storage, look for something else.

I camp year 'round, 90% due to business travel. Even a big TC, while highly mobile, is relatively small. So, I spend far more time living out of the camper than in it, winter time excepted. I use a gravity recliner from CW for lounging around my campsite. When I'm invited to a neighbor's campsite to share their campfire, I grab my director's chair. It's lite, comfortable, provides good support and has a little flip-up table with a cup holder. Pretty nifty for holding my drink and a small bowl of snacks.

We love the Cabelas chairs. They are a little pricey, but excellent quality - there are cheaper versions of both types available. They both come in "fat boy" sizes. The chaises live in the trailer, and are great for relaxing by the campfire. The director chairs live in the truck, and are handy at the campsite or on the beach (the cross bars keep them from digging into the sand.)

I've tried the recliners, but, many times I want to sit and not recline. We bought some of the light weight folding patio chairs at Target. They fold-up flat and don't weigh a lot, plus they are comfortable. We also bought a pair of the folding rocking patio chairs. They don't fold-up as flat, but, they are also very comfortable. I have found the "bag Chairs" to not be very comforatble.

Big wide recliner from CW. A little heavy to move around but very comfortable.

We have the little fold up chairs, but really want the recliners and or the chairs with the foot rest would be best and think that is what we will be looking for to stow in the "basement" for the next trip out.

We have had 2 of the high dollar recliner type in the big man size for the last 2 years and love them, also have a rocker type that DW uses most of the time. Only problem with either of them is they take up a lot of room to store in the 5er. But they are worth it.
