If I am reading this correctly, you are thinking of fulltiming for a year, your children are already home-schooled, all under the age of 12, your stick and brick house is stuck in a less than ideal neighborhood and the public school system just won't do. You have 6 children to raise in this world. Home schooling, alone, doesn't take them out of the neighborhood. So really, there is a major reason for you to sell the stick and brick. People here are writing "think of your children first". Well, I think you are.
Get them out of that neighborhood. Sell the house. Buy a suitable RV. Few MH's will accomodate 8 passengers with seat belts, so get a big bunkhouse TT and be done with it. You need 2 vehicles anyway. Store your stuff for the year and roam a bit, find a new place to set down roots.
I could stand on my head for a year if I had too. This sounds way more fun than that.
Good news is . . . the housing market stinks. What you may lose on the front end, you will make up with the bargain on purchase.
They are only young once and you have NO reason to stay where you don't even like your neighborhood.

For those wondering, we have ruled out a DP. Still have not made up our minds. A 40-45' 5r and a HDT is most likely the winning combo. We are also looking at land for a homebase with family. Much to consider. Keep up the good work. All opinions are welcome, whether for or against.

DRV has posted some of their new 43 foot floorplans on their website. Pictures will be added later.
If you wanted new that would be a great RV to have with lots of kids. They don't have a 2 bath option, but since they are doing custom, it might be possible.

For even more information and maybe a bit of inspiration you could check out the story of Dorian Paskowitz and his family. Google his name, or you could check out a documentary called "Surfwise". He attended school to be a doctor, and ended up fulltiming with his wife and, eventually, nine kids, starting an international surfing school along the way. The guy is like, almost 90, that alone surely is inspirational to me!

Terrible idea. Crowded, noisy, and so on.
GO FOR IT. You're only planning a year and they have plenty of time left to make friends in any school you choose.
Some of your children are a bit young to remember so take lots of pictures. They will meet people and see places and I suspect they will have a better appreciation of our country. They will return to a stick/brick setting better prepared to move forward.
Good luck, enjoy and make the most of your time together.

I think you would be absolutely nuts if you don't do it! Life shouldn't be ordinary, folks; it should be extraordinary.

Go for it. We homeschooled our now 18 year old twins until they were 16. We were able to do three 7 week trips. I wish we could have full-timed for a few years. I wasn't the best homeschool mom but my kids learned a lot through the travelling. If a picture is worth a thousand words, seeing it in person must be worth a million.

We will be upgrading to a bigger home at the end of the year. We haven't given up on our full-time dreams, but they will have to wait for another few years. The good news is that with the help of several who have provided great information on available floorplans, we do know that we have a handful of choices when we invest in our bigger rig later this year.
One thing that still has not changed - having the children out on the road to enjoy all the wonders nature has to offer. Thank you to all who weighed in on this topic.
