My Canon quit, didn't like it so don't think I want another Canon.. Looking at all options, Do not want to spend over $100.

Looked at a HP All in one F4440 and read the reviews and found out that in order to use the scanner part with Vista you need to use another program from Windows as the scanner button does not work with Vista!

Like the looks of the wireless Lexmark X4650 but their ink is the most expensive and can't be refilled. Like the idea of wireless as we have three computers.

Anything else I should consider?

I've started purchasing Brother printers and been very happy with the performance and the prices I can find if I shop around some. So far we have two at home and 4 at work, drivers and software are easy to use and understand. When I bought the Multi-function for home I wanted individual ink cartridges and built in Wi-Fi. I got a MFC-490CW for about $80 on sale.

Recent tv ads are offering discount on new Kodak printers with trade in of your old printer. Don't know if it has to work or not. . . On the other hand, I went from a Canon to an HP several years ago and have gone thru a couple of HP's now and seem to have better luck with them (moreso now that I have a Mac). I also found turning the printers off when not in use seems to extend their life so haven't been using the wireless option on them.

Take a look at PCWorld.com reviews. They have pretty comprehensive reviews of everything for the computer.

Four years ago primarily for use in the RV I bought an HP 3740 for $21 at Target. It's small, light-weight and after four years is still going strong.

I have had a number (6) Kodak printers. The printheads have been a real problem for me. I finally bought an HP (3). We will see how they work

We have an HP on the tugboat...lots of vibration, and it's still going strong. We still use XP, so I can't speak for the Vista problems, but now that "Win-7" is out, I'd guess that they solved the problem with Vista! LOL!!

This one is about 5 years old....and still works like new! I have the same one at home, and it's working fine too. Just figured maybe the vibration aspect would be of interest, if you are going to use it in the RV!
