Its all about torque!! That's why we have them, and all models are torque monsters. Knowing what one is doing it probably could have been pulled out with 2wd.

When we were at Big Lagoon State Park earlier this year, a lady was hooked to her camper and was buried in the sand from repeated efforts to get out. We hooked up to her front axle with a tow strap we keep in the truck (she had no tow hooks or other place to connect to)... put it in 4 low and eased her right on out of there. Saved her from calling a tow truck. Ahhh, I love 4 wheel drive.

Good story, I am sure they will not soon forget your kindness. And, it sounds like a great commercial for Ford 450's - what a truck!

Be glad you didn't end up like at a festival we were at earlier this year.

Beemerfile 1, is that a pic from this year's Bob Evan's Farm Festival? I heard it was a real mud bath. We were planning to go then my work schedule changed. Glad we missed the mud....

Yep, Bob Evans Farm Festival. Not my rig in the picture but I did have to be pulled out. The 5er in the picture took three tractors to pull it out.

I would be VERY careful in pulling on a 43' rig's hitch. I have worked for a Heavy Tow Company for almost 12 years now. The hitch on most Class A rigs are built for "flat-towing" a toad.
