Wife and I have looked at them all and decided our new tow vehicle will be a 2010 Ford XLT,5.4,6spd,3.73 ratio, Max Tow Pkg,brake controller, and all the goodies. It even has tailer sway control and a back up camera. Does this sound like an adequate vehicle to pull my new 28C HiLo. The trailer will be about 6000lbs loaded(we travel light)GVWR is 7000lbs. Listed hitch weight is 850lbs. I willl be using an Equalizer WDH. GVWR on the truck is 7675lbs. and the Max Loaded Trailer Weight Rating per the Ford literature is 9600lbs. Just the wife and I in the truck @283lbs.total. I think I should be OK,but it doesn't hurt to ask the experts and those of you who have a lot of experience! I would be greatful for all replies! Thank You! Road Dog

I think you'll enjoy yourself, but give it a few moments and there may be a few come along and say "you should have gone with a 620 HP 1950 Ft/Lb, tendem axle, 18spd, Peterbilt long nose with a 13,200 front axle and 46,000lb rears"!

Congrats and have fun with your new unit.

Nope, need an F350 If your weights are correct it sounds like it would be fine. The only area I would even think twice about is the tongue weight. Those nicer riding trucks pay with softer springs, considering your true TW may be closer to 950/1000 you may sag a little in the rear, hopefully the WD will be able to keep things level. Enjoy the new ride!

Towing 6,000-7,000 pounds with that combination will be fun. You will know you are towing something in the hills but it will get you over them with no problem.

I think you will do just fine.
We have basically the same truck with all the options, accept it's a 2009. Also using an Equal-i-zer hitch. We traded in our 2001 F-150 for the '09. What a difference. Ford came a long way. You're going to love that '10 truck.

My 04 model has done a great job with my Rockwood (travel weight 9,000 lb.) for over 40,000 towing miles. With the 6 speed tranny you'll be just fine with that and a lot MORE trailer. Good luck / skip

Congrats on the new truck...I am sure you will love towing with TowCommand and the Sway control that no other truck has.

My dad just updated to the 2010 F-150 and loves it. He tows a smaller 5th wheel and he said it is night and day over his 99 F-150. There is good power and feels more stable. He is very pleased with it and it's towing ability. Congrats...
