Please go to the doctor immediately. If the dog is found and quarantined that's a load off your shoulders, but if not found you do not know. If you don't get to a doctor, once rabies symptoms start it is then too late to treat. Don't take chances with your life. Good luck and God go with you.

Stray dogs that bite are not usually quarantined. If caught, he'll be put down and then tested for rabies ASAP. That's actually more humane, given the dog's situation. Let's hope it is before anyone else gets bit.

Guess that depends on the shelter/state, I have heard of stray dogs being rehabilitated.

Stray dogs may be rehab'ed but if they bite they are usually put down. Good advice has been given. Take the advice and let us know how things turn out.

I got a dog from the pound once. It turned out not to so friendly and bit someone. I returned it to the pound and there policy was to keep the dog for 10 days before putting it down due to possible rabies infection. This even though the dog had all his shots.
