Ha!
Yes, we "downsized" when our daughter graduated from college. Went from a 29' Terry to a 26' Nomad. Well... added a slide-out - and about 1000 lbs.
So, decreased length and added weight.
What's even better - - daughter still travels with us, with an extra dog!

After five years of spending more time maintaining it than using it, I went from a 24' C to a custom B. I eliminated most of the "amenities" and only installed items that were highly fail-resistant. I haven't spent a single trip day in the shop since.

We started RVing in a 19ft TT. It was small, but I loved it. Last year we upgraded to a 30ft with a slide. I do like the extra space and the fact that we can sleep DH & me in a queen bed, plus our two adult-size teens AND four of their friends, plus our Standard Poodle. However. When DD16 graduates in 2 years I'd really like to downsize to maybe a 21 or 25 footer.
What I liked most about our 19ft was that it was light-weight and we could get into pretty much any campsite. It was very low maintenance. I loved the coziness. The ONLY thing I didn't like about it was there really wasn't room for us and our big dog.
We have more living space in the 30-footer but that thing is really heavy with the super slide. I would be more concerned about going over the Rockies with this one--our 19footer just about flew over the mountains. We didn't even know it was back there!

We just traded our 2004 5th Wheel Laredo 32' for a 2009 Rockwood Roo 19' thats right 19' and we love it,not only can we get into those small waterfront sites we like,it tows like a dream, ofcourse we are using an F250 diesel (a little overkill but hey its paid for)and allows us to bypass fuel stops we used to frequent. But the Best reason is it gets the kids out and camping instead of gaming and dvds like in the bigger 5er. No room for such non camping items in the little Roo.

Although we still have our 27' TT, we now use our little Lance TC for the two or three day camping trips. We like the ease of getting in and out of the back country spots the TC provides us.
The TT will be our standby incase things get worse with the economy.
