We are a couple in our 50's - who are fairly new to the rv life. We would like to spend a few days in March at an rv park in Texas on a lake with kayaking or boat rentals. Anyone know of a good park??

Inks Lake State Park. Wildlife galore, golf course down the road. Lots of water sports. They rent all you need at the park store and the scenery is beautiful.

Here is the web site for all Texas State parks with amenities.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/parkinfo/facilities/campsites/

Also check about the different pass programs. Come on to Texas. Nacogdoches is the oldest town in Texas in East Texas and don't forget First Monday in Canton. There are a lot of things to see and do here.

I can't help it, I'm a born and bred Texan. The Army forgot me and sent me to other places (I enjoyed seeing them and exploring their areas) but I was glad to get back home in 1980.

There is a great park on Lake Grapevine in Grapevine Tx. called The Vineyards Campground. Great place, friendly people, kayak rentals, and lots of things to do in town. Make reservations early though, their weekends book up way in advance.

Fairfield Lake State Park, Eisenhower State Park, Palmetto State Park, Caddo Lake State Park, Lake Copus Christi State Park, Lake Livingston State Park are the ones we've stayed at. Lake Livingston, Fairfield Lake are our favorites.
