Had one make a mud nest on one of the a/c fan blades once. Really threw it out of balance making me think I had a major a/c problem. Now I keep a cover over it.

They love to plug up small openings with their nests. I have an outboard motor that overwinters in Connecticut. The tell-tale stream hole gets plugged by them unless I put a piece of large monofilament into it to keep them out. The hunt spiders and put them into the mud nest and then lay an egg on it. When the egg hatches, the larva consumes the spider.

My most recent experience was with one nest in the drain tube from the rear AC. The condensate is routed through this tube and drains onto the ground. When the AC was on, water was coming out through the air intake on the ceiling. The mud dauber had built a nest about six inches into the tube and plugged it solidly.

Often times, you will see these wasps inspecting all the small openings in your motorhome. I have seen them crawl into the weep holes in the window frames, and they are notorious for plugging up burners in furnaces and water heaters.

They will also come in underneath your slideout when open. When we're camping I simply stuff paper towel in the openings underneath. BE Sure you remove the paper towel before closing your slide.
