I am going to replace all 6 of my class C tires due to a delamination in one of the tires and am looking for recommendations for replacements. The current tires are Uniroyal 225 / 75 / R16

I only use Michelin XPS Ribs - expensive, but worth it.
There is now one other all-steel choice - from Goodyear, I think.

Yep,,, One of the Goodyear choices is a 949. I'm getting a set next week for $225 each + M&B.
Goodyear also has a M&S tire that is supposed to be good.
Th 949's look similiar to the ribs. I was quotes $250 for the ribs.

Michelin tires are great but expensive and some folks say they give a hard ride. I guess if you are going to keep the rig forever and you plan to drive many, many miles they might be worth the investment. I chose Firestone TransForce HT tires in load Range E and I have been very happy with them. The price was good, they give a comfortable ride and the steering feels solid. I would have no problem with buying another set. If you check the Firestone site you might find a discount coupon.

Goodyear 949. A light truck tire is built for a light truck. You don't have a light truck. You gotta go with the RV spec: All steel either from Bridgestone, Michelin or Goodyear. Just because the coach builder was unethical in receiving the light truck tires and then building a coach on them doesn't mean that you can.

I concur that you should go with the all steel tires rather than the steel belted. Michelin XPS rib is my choice. I had my original LT tires come apart and don't wish to repeat that experience.

I just looked at Goodyear's RV tire selection and didn't see a 949. If a tire is rated for a Class A, is it advisable to use on a Class C... ?
Only all steel construction that I see is the g647.
Am I missing something?

I have Michelin LTX tires on mine now. Never had a problem and have liked the ride, but they are ready for replacement. One tire place told me the Michelin XPS are the "best" RV tires; another said to just go with another set of LTX tires.
I've driven through rain and snow with no problem on the LTXs, so I'm wondering from those here saying XPS tires are the way to go -why given the extra $ and the stiffer/rougher ride with the XPS?
