I am surprised their is any recall, as during Bankruptcy, the Obama Administration requested any product liability be cancelled for the new GM Corporation and any outstanding lawsuits be terminated. This along with other legal bankruptcy issues that were ignored. Don't try to sue the old GM as it no longer exists and the new one is not responsible.

I don't know about other places but in NY they will pull your registration if you don't have a recall done. I had a 2004 chevy with this same problem.

I got the notice yesterday for my 08. It will have to wait till the end of March now, since the truck is put to bed in my shop for the winter, with only comp insurance...so I`m not moving it!!

SO how does NY know that you did or did not have a recall done? unless the dealership/manufacture has to notify the state of the recall along with the when it was done! Something seems amiss here. But then again, all states seem to have different laws regarding some issues, and this seems silly, especially if you are out of state traveling at the time. Or you get a recall 30 days before having to relicense.......or some other item. You must have some period of time to correct the recall.

Wow, looks like the Furd crew has nothing to do but bash GM in a thread started to inform GM owners in a matter of safety.

Shouldn't you furd boys be busy changing your EGR coolers or something? I can't help but thinking that your head gaskets are starting to leak.

Good point Engineer. Also, they need to be checking and/or replacing the batteries in their smoke detectors if they park those Furds in or near the garage!
