Dodge and S&S are gone!!!!

Got a 2010 F150 XLT Super Cab short box HD towing 5.4 6 sp auto 4X4.

Yup. Pretty much a grocery getter!! Have to go with a pop up TC. My S&S is on consignment at an RV dealer that also handles Starcraft pop up TC's. Seems like a nice unit. Anyone know about them?

I wanted to "go lighter" for a while and this will be a good opportunity to get deeper into the woods!!! Maybe even White Rim Trail!!

Future mods include lift kit with suspension mods for TC hauling. Especially get rid of those P rated tires!!!

DJ,

I just did the same thing. I purchased a used Northstar TS1000 and dropped according to the scales 1,100lbs! It is well appointed and only missing a few things the Lance had and still has decent floor space.
I should be under my GVWR ready to roll now. I also down sized the boat, too much hassle for me pulling into some of the tight weekend camp grounds with a 20ft boat in tow. Our combined weight should drop about 2,600lbs. Hopefully much easier on me and the truck.

I am taking the looong way to where I should have started.

Have fun with the new Ford!

Last I knew Starcraft still has the kind of door that you gotta crawl through when getting in and out and that would never work for me.

You may want to check out the Palomino Bronco's as they have a full height door when in the up position...

Looking for any information available on Del Rey "Sky Lounge" and Kamp King slide-ins for preservation/restoration projects.

I guess you don't have to worry about the big rocks that you barely miss with your front wheels from now on...

Enjoy the new toys.

It is your life and your choices.

You have a plan... and should follow it.

I often wonder where/how I'll be in a few years. I hope that we can stay in our TC as long as we are able to travel.

There are some compromises that I don't want to make to go smaller (probably to an Airstream Class B).

I hope that you'll continue to post the plusses and minuses of your new set up...

Good luck

There's no reason expect grief over your choice to go smaller and lighter. Heck, some of us may even think MORE of you for having LESS. While you may sacrifice a few extra inches of room, overall you still have a TC with all the advantages inherent to that style. And as you mentioned, your ability to go even more places will be enhanced.

Good luck with the new rig.
