Just FYI, nearly all manufacturers use UV inhibitors in their truck tire lines, not just Goodyear. Michelin has a type in the new XZA3 that turns the tire brown, between washes. Hankook is also using inhibitors in their truck tires.

When I got my tires 2 years ago they were all 2-3 weeks old. Our local Michelin dealer is also a MH owner so he gets new for us. The price was also great.

I was pricing out goodyear too and told them they had to give me the DOT number before they shiped them. I was not paying for old tires. Always check the DOT before they start to put tires on RV.

We just returned from a trip in August, during which we had to replace one of the rear GoodYear RV 670s because it had a 3" long 'Worm like' bubble in the sidewall on our 2006 motorhome. I bought the rig new in 2007 but was told Goodyear wouldn't honor any warranty because the 'date of manufacture' on the tire was outside the 3 year period even tho I only owned it for 2 years! No more Goodyear tires for me!!!

The tire companies have been pushing this 5 to 8 year garbage, primarily to promote increased sales but then say don’t worry about it to make a sale… great…

I do believe there is something to the age thing though, but I believe it is planned obsolesce…

I think they got so good at making tires that they think they can reduce mfg cost and increase sales at the same time, by selling the age deal to the public, then build a cheaper tire, once we are sold on their idea…

there should be no problem finding and printing articles out with the age recomendations...

have you wife e-mail them and ask if her 8 year old tires on her RV should be replaced...

then you e-mail them about your concerns with your new tires and let them e-mail you that the three years dosen't mean anything...

you should have everything you need should you decide to take action...

oh ya, even you decide not to take on action file a complaint with the state AG... I am sorry age either means something of it doesn't...

If U bought new tires that were already 3 years old when U mounted em, the 3 year warranty is already over according to GoodYear.

very good point...has anyone had any luck asking AND getting tires within their date specification?

Yes. Told the dealer no older than 6 months and he got 4 that were under 3 months.
