We bought a Honda Ridgeline and Honda and Remco say to use a trailer, no 4 down. Has anyone used a tow dolly? We still have our 2000 CR-V to tow if needed.

Cannot be towed. That is the only reason we do not have one. I suggest heed what Honda and Remco say.

Ridgelines can only be towed on a trailer. Had to get rid of mine when I needed a towd - I still miss it.

No, Trailer only or I would be towing one. Check Remco's site, Trailer Only. The Ridgeline is an AWD, therefor all wheels must be off the ground to be towed. Too bad you didn't purchase one of the towable trucks you looked at.

Brobox-the Ridgeline better suits are needs. The fact That I can't tow it wasn't that big a factor as we still can tow my DW's CR-V if needed. I always wanted a 4wd and this is very versatile. I need a vehcile that I can put plywood or a household appliance in and have comforable seating. The others were too big or too small. This has a trunk in the bed and drives like an SUV or better yet a carnot a truck .Loaded with leather and a moonroof.

I also REALLY like the Ridgeline and would have bought one in a heart beat had it been towable, nice mid size trucks! I hear exactly what you are saying about a mid size truck suiting our needs. That is why I bought the Toyota, suited my needs and I could make it towable.

Not questioning, just wondering, what is it about the Ridgeline that makes it not capable of towing. Given manufacturers' propensity to maximize multi-use components, I had guessed the running gear was similar to the CVR.

As to a dolly, as best I recall, the CRV manual warns against towing with two wheels down (perhaps just places limits). Again, just wondering. On a CRV, the rear wheels only engage when the front wheels spin. Why would they engage with the front tires not moving? Is the problem because the front wheels are not doing something that provides a degree of lubrication?

Stennis- I was thinking the same thing about the rear end. I could swear I've seen Ridgeline toads behind a few big DPs. Maybe they were on trailers???

I had not thought about it but, like you, I am sure I have seen Ridgelines four down. If I can catch one, I will ask about that.

Ridgeline has a V-6 engine, CR-V is a I-4. Big difference!!
