Our 97HR (Freightliner XC chassis) was not equipped with an air dump switch for the suspension.

I'd like more range of motion for the leveling jacks - i.e. in some instances, if I can get the front lower, the back doesn't have to come up as much. Basically, if the front or rear would dump air, I'd be able to level more effectively.

Anyone know of an aftermarket way (kit) of doing this? I'd imagine there would be a few air solenoid valves connected to a relay and switch.

I pump my brakes with the engine off and it comes down much faster than using the air dump valve by itself. Maybe yours will dump quick with the brakes too.

I thought there was a check valve in the airbags that prevented the suspension from lowering when there is no air pressure remaining?

Maybe I'm just seeing an illusion but in any case dumping the brake air assures me no one can release my parking brake. I will check it out again this weekend. We have had it for a year now and still learn new stuff all the time.

JH is right. There should be a check valve to prevent the air to escape out of your airbags. If you do settle down, you probably have a bad check valve.

I learned something new. It does not drop with the brakes as mentioned. Guess that PDI point was just so the brake can't get pushed and then the coach rolls. That makes more sense anyway.

Check with Freightliner. My coach has a mechanical dump valve which is identical to the ones on road tracktors. It is located by the shift pad. You might have to run an airline & cut a mounting hole to intall this type.
