Is your truck stock? If so, it will be fairly low. 14.5 sounds a little high to me. Is that using the overhead or hand calculated? I would think more around 12. I get about 12-14 towing 10k, but I have quite a bit of stuff done to mine.

When I pulled my Jayco 4800# TT with my 6.7 CTD, I got 12.5 mpg. It was like pulling a box through the wind. Plenty of power, but the aerodynamics were terrible.
I get better MPG pulling my 12,000# fiver.

Haven't pulled yet with my new diesel particulate filter installed, but empty at 70-75 mph up hill/down hill (I live in the mountains), hand calculated it was 17.38 MPG on the last tank. I'm happy. Before, when it was screwed up (my opinion), it got 10 ish towing 10K. TT

Hand calcutlated. I get up to 12 towing my 15.5K 40'er. So 14.5 is about right where I should be.
