We are heading down to the Emerald Coast this January and are looking for a nice RV campground. Water, sewer and 15 amp elec. services are a must. Any suggestions???? After spending the last 3 winters in the RGV we want to give Mexico a try. I speak spanish and want to explore much more of Mexico in the future. However, that will depend on the wife liking her initial experience this comimg January. ( If she an't happy then nobody is happy!) Any info, web sites, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

There are many parks all along the coast. We have stayed at two and of those we like Neptuno the best. It is on the beach, has electric, water and sewer.
I'm sure more people will chime in with their experiences.

Here you go, a clicakble map with the Veracruz area RV parks.
First time Mexico RVers always get the same advice, use the linked website by Bill and Dot Bell, and buy Traveler's Guide to Mexican Camping by Mike and Terri Church. Click on the "Mexico's RV Parks" tab on the Bell's site to see the entire country.

The Emerald Coast is nice. We have stayed at Alicia RV park a few times. There isn't much there for a long stay in the way of shopping and dining. Catemaco is only a little further south. The town is nestled along a lovely lake and has many interesting restaurants and shopping with the local people. The RV park is beautiful. Good 30 amp elec., water, sewer, clean hot showers and laundry on a site which may have a cement pad and lots of grass. Guests dogs run free and play together frequently as the park is surrounded by a high wall and gates are closed each evening by the night security guard. It is very tropical and sits above the river creating a remarkable view. The beach is easily accessible and fun for the day. Busses and taxis are constant to wisk you away to any destination. The owners are here daily, speak English and are very friendly and accomodating. There is also free WiFi to your site. Here is the website for the park: http://www.gaudis.com/. You may email me for more info or my Skype name is sunnyvz. I'm in casita #3 and margaritas may be enjoyed on my garden patio. Safe travels.

We did this trip in March. Our blog HERE might be of help to you...the link begins with crossing the border. We liked De Alba (aka Yuri) LINK very much. Planed to stay a couple of days and stayed 2+ weeks...would have stayed longer but Semana Santa came and we wanted to be away from the coast.
Has what you want, including a pool. But, like most parks on the East Coast, voltage can be iffy if the park is full. You won't be able to run an AC unless the park is empty. We never had a problem with regular stuff like TV, coffee, etc. They have wifi that works much of the time...if it is out, there is a coffee shop next to the Pemex that has good wifi.
As the blog notes, we love the food...you can tell the owner, chef etc, Antonia, what you want and she'll fix it to order at a real cheap price. Excellent! You'll also be helping a family in need. Antonia is a widow with a severely handicapped child. She's not looking for charity. She simply give excellent value for money. Claire and Bob, Brits, help her out and are superb hosts.
If you have any questions, ask here or PM. Steve
