Actually, it looks to me like the Titan and Tundra had better months than the same period one year ago. Neither Dodge nor Ford can say that with their newer 1/2 tons currently available. However both (Dodge and Ford) are delivering new HD trucks very soon(In Dodge's case, they will be at the dealerships in a matter of days), which will likely bolster truck sales a bit in the coming months. Kudos to GM for also seeing a small increase in sales versus a year ago.

Looks to me like GM/Chev is now number one with a combined sales of 352,469.

What sales are Tundra's beating?

Well, I look at it this way...
Tundra-64,136
1/2 ton = 64,136

GMC Sierra-91,327
1/2 ton = ? 30,442.33 ? a third?
3/4 ton = ? 30,442.33 ? a third?
one ton = ? 30,442.33 ? a third?

Ram-155,467
1/2 ton = ? 51,822.33 ? a third?
3/4 ton = ? 51,822.33 ? a third?
one ton = ? 51,822.33 ? a third?

Are those the numbers? Who knows, likely not, but apples to apples, it looks like Toyota's 1/2 ton holds it's own. If Yota had a 3/4 and one ton, would their sales look better? Would they pick up some of those 3/4 and 1 ton sales? Again, who knows and we likely never will. The economy sucks and Toyota's HD version was put on hold over a year ago.

Its more like 60% -1/2 ton with 3/4 - 1 ton the rest.

Again with the mystery 60%. Until you post some basis, your 60% guesstimate does not hold any more weight than the other posters dividing it by thirds.

Not a mystery, but accepted ratio,do a search and prove it wrong.
None of the full line manufacturers brake out the numbers so this is the proportion you mostly see.
Acually in a other thread I did post a linc to the number (it was a long one so you may have missed it)

I would bet that 1/2 ton sales are at least 70% of the full size truck market. Sit at any street corner in "normal america" (not at a cattle auction or RV park) and tally 100 trucks that go by. Most will be 1/2 ton. The prices of 1/2 ton are better, the ride is better, they have nicer amenities (for the price or as normally ordered by dealers) and better fit the needs of 95% of truck buyers. Heck -- until I purchased a toyhauler I could not tell you the spec differences between a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. Full Floating or Semi-Floating Rear Axle -- what the heck....

This is an RV forum and the thought on this forum is "Bigger is Better" and my mind now thinks that way also. But -- when I talk to family and relatives that are "non-RV or non-farm types" they see a truck as a truck.

Some individuals are able to have the data. RL Polk obtains registration data from each state and classifies the vehicles by what it is. However, your agreement with RL Polk would have to allow sharing this information publicly. Additionally, I am 100% postitive that each auto manufacture has this information. However, they chose not to give this detail.

I would guess that 70% is a very good estimate.

I know what works best to put in my garage(s).

I don't care what everybody else is buying, or how many of them were sold.

What matters to me is when I deceide on what truck I want they need to build at least one.

Agreed. I care not what the "sheeple" are buying, so long as what I want to buy is available at my time of purchase. Looks to be another 5 years before I need another truck at this point based on my usage and the proven reliability of my current truck.
