I'm sitting here reading through RV.NET and MTV2 is on TV. The TV show Jacka** is on. It looks like a rerun from 2008. They do a stunt where a skydiver actually jumps out of an airplane with no parachute!!! You can tell it's real because he is in shorts with no shirt. He has no parachute. His partner jumps out with him and he has a chute. The guy does a couple of tricks in the air and freefalls for a while and then he meets up with the guy that has a parachute and in mid-air they connect themselves together. It looks like the guy without the parachute is wearing a harness under his shorts as he pulls a strap out of his shorts and hooks on to the other guy. They pop the chute and they land safely.

Can you imagine how dumb of a stunt that was? Even Johnny Knoxville, who does a lot of dumb things, couldn't believe they were going to do this. It takes a lot of guts to pull that one off. The guy even looked at the camera before he jumped out and said, "This may be the stupidist thing I've ever done." I agree.

Nature's way of thinning the herd. It didn't work that time, but it will, eventually.

Yes, Mother Nature is, ultimately, pretty efficient in that respect.

Ex Indycar driver Dick Simon did this once on a dare back in the late 60s early 70s. They threw the chute out...he jumped..caught up to it and put it on. He told me he almost missed it when he caught up to it. Said it was probably not the smartest thing he ever did.

Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

I'd have to see that one on video to completely believe it, but that is even dumber than this one if he did it.

Only a fool gets into a plane... but it takes a total idiot to jump out of one after it's left the ground.. with or without a parachute..

If man was meant to fly, we would have been born with wings..

Definition of an airplane:... a coffin with wings..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I've known Dick for 9 years and know him to be an honest man...and that's what he told me over some Crown Royal one evening at Indy in the motorhome.
