We are long time Fivers but just moving to a Class C. I have elected to go with a tow dolly but cannot get a definitive answer on towing my 2006 Nissian Maxima and/or my 2000 Lincoln Town Car. We would so appreciate any insight or advice on this very important matter. Thank you in advance for any insight.

I suspect you are going to be limited to the Nissan as I believe it is front wheel drive. A tow dolly will not do you any good for your rear wheel drive Town Car.

Virtually any front wheel drive vehicle can be towed on a dolly with the front wheels up. The question is whether or not you want to do it. A dolly puts weight on the receiver hitch, and thus additional weight on your rear axles and chassis. You need to look at the weights and specifications on your vehicle, the way you will use it, how heavily you will load it, and decided if it is right for you.
Does the Nissan have a manual or automatic transmission? With a manual transmission, it can be towed with all four wheels down. With an automatic, it cannot.

Motorhome Magazine Dinghy Guide Information Tow dolly loaded tongue weight is only about 100-150#'s so it's not much of a problem. Not all stick transmission vehicles can be towed, the transmissions are "splash" lubricated by the gears or splash plates spinning while being driven normally. If the splash comes from the trans output shaft then no problem as it's spinning while towing. BUT if it comes from the input shaft then it's not spinning when the engine is off and the trans will overheat. Someone just had a thread going about just that happening with their towed. Cost them a transmission rebuild to find out.

The Nissan can be towed with the dolly and the Lincoln can also be towed with the dolly if something like a Remco Driveshaft Coupling is added to it. See Remco Application chart here.
