I'll take the blame superduty - all of it. Next time I'm out on vacation with my USA tires and I see one of you two guys with your blown China junk tires on the side of the road, I'll be sure to wave and toss you one of your campaign posters!

I understand that many of you are out to change the entire RV industry single handedly, and would like all to join in a love-in to increase quality - but as far as RV tires, which I think was the topic - I have found it much easier to just replace the Chinese junk tires with USA tires after taking delivery - and carry on. The rest of you go forth and do well! Keep us posted on your progress.

Did you have to change hubs when you went to that high pressure wheel & tire assembly?

Mile High,

Relax, you are not invited to the post election party. :-) Life is too short for conflict over life's minor issues.

Trailer manufacturers are not all by themselves when it comes to being responsible for the tires supplied to the consumers. I took my wife’s car in for a normal service interval this afternoon and while waiting around for it to be returned to me I browsed around in the showroom. There were six cars in there and an inspection of the tires revealed that there were five tire brands. Two Goodyear and one each Michelin, Hancock, Pirelli, & Continental. I wish I had taken time to check the country of origin. I bet there were a minimum of three involved.

p.s. If you have a car or truck, any car or truck. You have MADE IN CHINA products.

I am confused. Are there two Fasteagle's? The one on the Everest forum is in Texas on what appears to be a long road trip with the trailer and TV. How did you take your wifes car in for routine service? Are you traveling with two vehicles? Or traveling in two time planes.

*NEVER* wish the garbage to "come on"!
Murphy will reward you.

Back to what was said earlier.
Your Montana doesn't seem (to me) to be a heavy trailer.
Light load = (usually) good service from tires that may be "marginal" to/for someone else.

I've got my 10 year old 15" Marathons on a utility trailer.
Never blown one yet - from the time they went *from* my light weight TT to the utility trlr. Easily match your miles.
Yahoo buckaroo!

But . . . for my 12K FW - the factory supplied "D" Marathons were not up to the intended job.

That 99 Montana wouldn't have had factory Mission tires - more like Tacoma. You didn't actually go out and buy those did you?

My goodness Chris, you have that way out of context. That trip through Texas took place in 2005.

I'm still wondering about that hub change I suspect you had to make when going to the 110 PSI tire.

I know of two Manufacturers in the past few years that have used the Mission tire with a 3500# load range on their 7000# axles. Heavy trailers tend to also be heavy on the axles. Recent history has shown the Mission tire has not performed well under the extreme conditions the manufacturers placed them in. Evidently they have learned their lesson as both are upgrading to LRG Light Truck tires. Anyone that received those Mission tires on 7000# axles should be seeking compensation from the manufacturers.
