I just hung up with the organizer of the "Camp 16 Memorial Ride & Poker Run". This is a benefit event for Los Angeles Fire Captain Ted Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnie Quinones who were killed near Mt. Gleason in the recent "Station Fire".

The ride starts at 10:00 at Jawbone station. The route goes north through Dove Springs and back. It's an easy family ride (more difficult options available). It's roughly the reverse of our route at the 2nd SoCal Rally.

The plans are still coming together, but they're hoping to make it out to the Husky Monument to install a memorial plaque on Sunday morning, 11/15.

Tickets for the Poker Run and BBQ are $40 for adults and $10 for kids 16 and under. They'll also have many items to raffle off for $1 per ticket (including a chance to spend a morning with the Mark & Brian show).

RSVP no later than Nov. 7 at the numbers shown below.

IMPORTANT: The website shown in this notice doesn't work. They're organizing this event on short notice and the person in charge of the website wasn't able to come through.

This cause is near and dear to my family. My father was a County Fire Captain. The County supported my family with their massive support at my dad's funeral service and then held a full honor guard at his old station.
