Looking to replace my tires and some guidance. It came with Michelin's Load E, 225/75 R16,
They all show evidence of dry rot and are about 2 yrs old...

Priced a few at my local dealers --Want to know if there are any brands/models I should stay away from and ones to look for.

Thanks,

Carrie

Just make sure the "new Tires" aren't older than the ones you are replacing. The code on the tires tells of the date manufactured. Most Rvers go with RV rated tires, Goodyear has them, so do other manufacturers.

Which Michelins? I'll bet LTX's, right?

Many folks on this board have premature aging on those tires when used with MHs. I don't know why.

On the other hand, the best you can get are also Michelins - the XPS Ribs. Expensive, but very good.

Goodyear (I think) also has some all-steel tires in this size, and, while I am sure they are great, they do not have the outstanding history of the XPS Ribs.

To me, unless you need something other than well-proven highway tires, the XPS Ribs are the runaway best choice - and priced accordingly.

BTW: If the "dry rot" is excessive - to the point they really need replacing - many here report that Michelin has been great about honoring their warranty and will give you some signifcant credit towards new tires.
