Wow! I cant beleive all the responses. Thanks a lot gang, I apprecaite it. And for those that say ask her what she wants,,,,, well you dont really think I would buy a car without her input do you? After all if momma aint happy, aint nobody happy. She has two cars to drive now, one is a Pontiac and the other is a Saturn, both paid for, but both with a ton of miles. I want her to have something newer, nicer, and more dependable. I'll probably use both as trade-in's so we dont have a yard full of cars. I'm not in a real big hurry, I have plenty of time. I'm thinking perhaps sometime in the spring would be good.

Boy I'm sure glad I didnt ask yall about TRUCKS! LOL!
Thanks again gang, yall are the best!

Avoid the 2.7 Chargers...not enough engine, struggles to move the car. The 3.5 is nice, the Hemi is a rocketship. (She needs to test-drive a Charger or 300 with a Hemi!)

If you have a Saturn, you will be getting another $1000 off Saturn vehicles. Currently, you can get $4000 or 0% for 72 months on a Saturn Aura. These come with two different V6 engines. The 3.5 and 3.6. Might be a great time to look into the deal (and you do not need to get rid of the old Saturn)!

Not enough info! Sedans come in an awful lot of flavors.

Does she prefer to be isolated from the road in cush, or feel connected to the road (i.e. performance)? Is mpg or 0-60 time more important? How tall is she? Does she like the easy manuevering of a small car or does she feel safer wrapped in tons of steel? Do you carry back seat passengers much? How many miles a year does she put on? How long would you expect to keep the car (resale)?

I, pseronally, put 20,000 miles a year on a car and don't have money to burn. I've had better luck buying new and doing superb maintenance than I have buying used and later getting stuck with the effects of neglect. If I had to buy new today, it would be a 2009 Chevy Cobalt LT stick shift. It ain't sexy or very good resale, but it has an extremely durable and low maintenance powertrain, best in class highway mpg (37), quiet ride, best in class standard horsepower (155) and cheap price (because reviews typically are based on the antique 4 speed automatic version). But that would be a lousy choice if your wife only drives a few miles, needs an automatic and trades every three years (bad resale). See what I mean?

I'd look for a nice clean used Excursion.
