Dealer and manufacturer say NO when it comes to a Keystone. The edge is up over an inch and if you step on it supposedly there is a risk of the slide walls separating. I don't know about sitting on the dinette or sofa, though, as I didn't ask about it. I just always run the thing out if I'm having a sandwich on the road, and I can't get into the bathroom either with it in.
