All searchs on the innernet talk about long term.

BLM page says:

"Winter visitors who wish to stay in an LTVA, must purchase a long term permit for $180 or a short visit permit for $40. The long term permit is valid for the entire season or any part of the season which runs from September 15 to April 15. The short visit permit is valid for 14 consectutive days with the option to purchase an unlimited quantity of additional permits. Both permits are valid in any of the designated LTVAs. "

The BLM site didn't have an active link for these two areas. For more info, call Palm Springs Field Office (760) 833-7100.

Thanks Tiger,
We are at Scaddan Wash, A 14day free area by Quartzsite, there are 5, 14day free areas by the La Posa LTVA. They require no fee. They have no garbage, water, or bathrooms, just free camping. I was wondering about the other LTVA areas, are there 14day areas adjacent to them?

My late Uncle Gene use to winter at Midland for years, there is "regular" BLM land that surrounds the LTVA area-camping for 14 free days.
