That sounds a little low, I get 16 to 18 unloaded and thats actual calculated figures.

I have added 50 gallon transfer-flow auxillary tank/tool box combos to both of my trucks. My wife *****ed about the cost when I put the first one in. Then after a couple of long trips she saw the light, allowing us to stop and fill where we wanted and often save money. When I bought the new truck it was the first thing I added, upon her request.
It feels like it is more expensive when you fill 70 gallons instead of 35, but it is all the same when you are on an extended trip.

My 2 cents...I thought about the aux tank and decided not to at this time for a couple of reasons.
I will be adding a 5gal to the box now though. (Thanks for that obvious one.)
The wife and dog need to stop long b4 the fuel is gone.
Now that said I may upgrade when the size of the trailer as well as the length of the trips go up down the road of life.

Same here, but no dog.
Dw will need to use the restroom and I will need a soda looong before I use up all the fuel, I try to combine restroom breaks, lunch, fuel into 1 stop, don't always work that way.
Having 2 bikes in the truck pretty much limits a in-bed tank, the Rhino takes up most of the back of the T H.

I added a 32 gallon aux tank in the bed of my shortbed Duramax. Bought at Northern tool online. It drains into the stock filler hose. Does take up a good portion of the front of the bed but I don't use the bed of my truck for much other than pulling. I usually pile firewood on top of the diamond plate tank. Now carry upwards of 60 gallons. Went on a 1065 mile vacation and filled up twice, the last time just my main tank to make it home. My buddies gasser with stock 36 gallon tank was looking for gas everyday, sometimes twice.

Ya would have loved traveling (NOT) with Us with the old Gasser, 100-120 miles per 25 gallon tank

Does anyone make a pickup truck bed tank that is divided? I'd like to have half diesel and half gas for the RZR and the generator.

I think you can get some that are like that, I know I see work trucks on occassion with two pump nozzles, one on either side, assume its for gas and diesel. Would be quite bulky and heavy though.

I've towed cross country several times and never found a problem locating diesel, but we use truck stops all the time. Generally the price is better and access easier. We take a break, walk the dogs, and have found the showers the best anywhere. (all the hot water you want, good pressure, very very clean, and well lighted.) The DW wife prefers these showers to campground showers any day.
I have more problems locating diesel in the cities and hate the price.
Pull into the truck stops and act like a big dog or at least see how they live!!!

Replace the stock tank with an aftermarket big tank. I like my 44 gal tank couldn't imagine dealing with a smaller tank.
