Well, if you read the top of this forum it says "RVing in Mexico and South America". It's not just about Mexico, tho 99% is about Mexico. I 've been visiting all of the Americas for longer than I care to mention. Chris is right too. My next stop after Guatemala is Ecuador and however I get there, I plan to drive a truck camper there too.

I've been investigating Argentina. They have several rental companies. We would fly to Buenos Aires and pick up the rental. Maybe in 2011!

qtla9111,
So have we but found RV rentals to be expensive. We found we could take other forms of transportation, rail, bus & taxi and stay at a nice hotel to be more affordable. There are some GREAT rail routes. Wish Mexico had it old passenger rail cars as sometime is nice just to ride & daydream!

I think he means the fear of having to go through Houston etc to get to Mexico.

mtlogger,
How do you get your rig from Guatemala to Ecuador? Have they finally built a road across the 100-mile Darien Gap in Panama? Last time I was down that way, granted it was 20 years ago, the road ended about 40 miles south of Panama City on the north bank of a river.

Still does end at Chepo.
Honk at any silver Dodge Ram & Crossterrain toyhauler on Baja. It's gotta be us - 'specially if it says Baja and Back #1.
