Thanks for the posts folks.

I have already made chili and some soups to take along. Just hope I can keep these frozen until ready for use.

Any tips on frig/freezer use? We do have lots of blue ice.

ANY weather is barbecue weather! Somehow a barbecued T-bone seems to taste better when I'm standing in two feet of snow. We do slow down using the grill in the winter and it only gets used 2-3 times a week. I also barbecue a turkey, ham, or roast for holidays. Although, I also like homemade chili.

Good point! At home we grill all year round. However, we do have lots of sunshine with that cold and snow.

Turning the frig/freezer on the day before we leave and running it on propane works well for us in keeping things frozen. At this time of year it is not difficult to keep things cold like in the summer when it is 100 degrees out. I'll run the frig on 7 during the summer but 7 in the winter almost freezes the milk.

We try not to be where it's cold, ever. Sometimes can't be helped except will never be where it is snowing ever again. We barbq in any weather and also love the crocpot. When it's hot we plug it in outside on a table so as not to warm up the MH. We use our big easy a lot too. A nice turkey or a roast is always good when its a little chilly outside cooked in the big easy.

I love a good bowl of chili when fall is in the air! At home it goes in the crock pot and cooks at least 24hrs. Then it goes in the fridge and we take it as our first night out meal. Topped with cheese, green onions and sour cream Bake some cornbread in the oven to go with it, and a nice dark beer. Mmmmmm. Got a trip to Yosemite in 3 weeks and this is in the plan. Boy am I looking forward to it.

We also love to do pizza. I worked at a good pizza place for 5 years, and was involved in every aspect from making the dough through baking, and I try to put that knowledge to good use. We make the dough up ahead of time, divide into balls, and freeze (never did this at the pizza place, but works well for home). Then defrost on the day planned for pizza. We use the diposable cake pans or pie pans, sauce, shreaded chees, and favorite toppings. About 10min on 450 and done. The oven can hold 2-3 so we do a couple, and while munching on the first batch bake some more.

Late fall is hog killing time and that means brains and eggs scrambled together for breakfast. For supper, chittlins, collard greens, baked sweet tatters, rice and pumpkin pie for desert. Yum Yum.....

Just about anything you can cook in a crock pot is good for a fall/winter RV meal. Beans & Hamhock, beef stew, chicken noodle soup and one of my favorites, beef stroganoff!

I like to fix the meal at the stick house and reheat it on the stove or in the crock pot at camp. These sort of comfort foods always taste better re-heated. Gives the flavors a chance to meld.

Don't forget the corn bread or biscuits!
