They have a pretty good reputation on this forum despite some frequent postings in the TT/HTT forum of full roof replacements and sidewall replacements on 2005-2007 model years. I would say this is due to their 2 year warranty and willingness to fix what is wrong without a hassle.

I owned two Jayco's and both had a long list of problems. Perhaps I was in the minority of owners but both had some obvious QC defects and one leaked badly. Since most people here sing their praises, as I said, perhaps I was unlucky twice.

As far as models I'm not a big fan of the Superlite's and IMHO the regular Eagle's are a better product for not much more $$$

Good luck in your search. Also Shop KZ, Crossroads and such. They also offer 2 year warranties.

We'll own no other. Jayco puts out an excellant product. We've had 2 minor warranty issues and they were fixed promptly.

I'm on my third Jayco and have had excellent service and performance from them. I would agree that you get what you pay for. The lightweights, entry level units don't hold up. I have a Designer Legacy fifth wheel and love it...lots of upgrades like extra insulation in roof and walls (cooler in summer, warmer in winter) Insulated windows, cherry wood, floor to ceiling shower walls (Short walls tend to get water behind them over time)...I could go on but I would buy another when the time comes.

IMO if the RV salesman was selling brand "X", the conversation wouldn't change.

I tend to rely on consumer feedback (this forum, etc.) and some personal due diligence, which sounds like what you are doing now.

As far as Jayco, I have owned two Eagles, had a couple of issues with my present Eagle, but overall pleased with my TT and the company behind it.

What ever manufacture/model you decide on, put as much time in picking out a good RV dealer as well.

On our second Jayco. The first was a TT and the current is a fifth wheel. Nearing 10 years and 60,000 miles with zero problems of any consequence and only 1 warranty repair, I'd say the go for it. We consider Jayco's first and if they have what we need that's were we stop!

Last summer, I bought a 2004 3710 RLTS Legacy 5er. It seems nobody else has that type of 5er! Am I wrong?

I can only compare to what others have said about their particular model of choice and I think we choose wisely. Service however is something we experienced when we had to take ours back to the factory to repair a bit of user inflicted damage - They treated us great and delivered everything promised, when promised
