Kinda of like when you are driving... anyone going faster than you is an idiot, slower than you is a moron.
My TT is 19' box and 23' overall. I consider it medium size... anything smaller is small and anything larger is large.

I consider around 22 to 23' as small, up to about 28' as medium and above that as large. 35' and above is just not right for a TT, 5er's are another matter, but over about 38 to 40' I don't think they should be towed with with any of the light duty pickups (F350, 3500 types even in the dually configuration).

The industry standard is to measure from hitch to rear bumper.
There was a previous thread on this subject a while back.
I regard over 20' as mid-size, 30' qualifies as huge.
A lot depends on how you use it. Little ones travel easier. If you just go to a destination and stay there, then larger will work.

"SMALL" is not a valid descriptive term as it will mean different things to different people. If would be descriptive only if a comparison were given along with the term. It's very much like the term "entry level"...meaningless but USUALLY just means lower price then the one owned by the one using the term

My box is 13 feet 16 over all, Funfinder. Its just right not to big to pull and big enough for the two of us to sleep and do all the other stuff in. My tandem Kayak is 22 feet long, in really big water, its a tiny little thing.Size is in the eye of the beholder. Don't worry about what other people think.

I would go along with e-bay under 16' small, 16' to 25' med, 26' to 35' large over 35' x-large. My opinion others may differ.

I generally think of single axles as small. I don't know why - there is obviously no objective basis for that distinction.
In the world of travel trailers, where common sizes run from 13-31', maybe you could split it into thirds. For example: 13-18 small, 19-25 medium and 26-31 large.
Although Ebay designates a 16' camper as medium, that seems like a stretch to me. 16' seems pretty small (I'm thninking of a Scamp). Again, I don't know why. I have no objective criteria....
