I have a Barker which I like. As usual I had a problem with mine that no one has mentioned so I think I must be the only one. I was not as attentive as I should have been when I completed my hookup and I raised the jack leg all the way up where it jammed tight. I took the cover off the gearbox and relieved the pressure on the gears. It worked fine then, but I am subject to making the same mistake a second time so I looked for a solution. I took a muffler clamp which fit loosely and put it around the leg (loose fit). now if I jack it up too far I can unbolt the clamp relieving the pressure lower the leg and re-bolt the clamp. A test run proved it would work, no more dis-assembly for me. I will try to avoid this situation in the future of course. Back to topic, I recommend the Barker, works for me for 3 years so far.

Doesn't the Barker have a clutch?
Due to the incline of my drive I have been maxing out my Atwood in the raised position for 10 years. In the lowered position the same. Hold the button down until the clutch chatters. No problems.
Due to the design, water CANNOT get in so no need to cover it. AND if the battery wears down the manual crank works just like a manual jack without having to remove the handle every 1/2 turn like the Barker.
