Paper products in Baja are quite expensive in comparison to the US. Quality is also lacking, single ply TP down south is the same thickness of a paper towel.
Mexican Customs looks at me sometimes like I'm nuts. I have 4-5 20 packs of Scot Tissue and about a half dozen multi packs of Scot paper towels.

My Short List Of Can't Finds:
100% DEET insect repellent (Bring lots and sell what you don't use)
Full size dinner napkins - Mexican napkins are postage stamps.
JIF peanut butter is now available in Commercial Mexicana, Costco, Sam's, etc.
Pickle Relish is impossible to find as are decent pickles.
Good crackers such as Red Oval Farms Cracked wheat are not found
Excellent whole bean coffee is still hard to find.
Lala brand has superb belgian butter
Filbert nuts
Shoes for sizes larger than 9
Spices such as montreal steak seasoning
hidden valley ranch powder to mix with mayo or sour cream
blueberry jam

Canned chopped tomatoes (tomato sauce is easy to find), good cheddar cheese, flour and yeast for bread machine (I know, I know, I'm spoiled, but I do like french bread), new machine just purchased for that reason, chicken stock. I like our quality kitchen paper, it seems the kind I buy there falls apart as soon as it hits water. Husband likes port & beans,and I like Heinz beans (for those of you Canadians, you will know what I mean). Other than that I can find most anything I want in Mexico.

Most people would be surpised at some of the things that are available in Mexico. You have to know where to find things. Often a super is the wrong place. Example: In Hermosillo there is a store in Centro called Sazueta's. Fun place; You can find rhe following at this store: 100's of different bulk candies, natural healing stuff, bird cages and seeds, every spice you can think of, party supplies. dozens of salsas, commercial size cookware. Victoria white alcohol (if you dont know what that is you dont want to know!), cookies not available at supers and more. I am sure there are stores like this in every major city. Sometimes one of the mercados will have what you are seeking. If not a trip to the market is a fun day!! Bring a camera!

I had a heck of a time finding distilled water for the batteries (my converter at that time was boiling them). I know it is avail but I never saw it (Chris said where but I forget).
