Magua, thanks. Have to admit we were pretty shook up. It did come down just like an arrow being thrown with the height it came from and such. DW didn't stop shaking and crying for a couple of days (her bunk) but opted to get back up in there again on third night (back on the saddle or something like that)

We've seen some bad booms, like the one pic Chuck S posted for example, and have seen a big oak fall on a popup with an Amish family who didn't use the electric (maybe they were Mennonite not positive, one or other) that had two adults and 5 kids in that big old starcraft and no injuries. Really amazing.

At the same State Park we were at when this happened , about 2 months ago, a big tree (not pine) fell across a new shiny red Monte Carlo and the camper on the site ((Eddie, you may remember this? It was in the first bend of Loop B, around site 10 or so) and then later that same week (we were camped during the whole time on the same loop but further up a few sites) another tree fell across road and damaged a 5th wheel and truck but didn't squish it like the red car and camper. No injuries except like the same for my DW, a couple of bruises and scratches. It's amazing sometimes how close a call we humans pull off.

Now we're just holding our breath making sure the Forest River's canvas makers don't screw up the bunk end color or something else happens before we get it all returned to normal and life goes on.
Actually we were also very relieved it didn't hit the tow vehicle, the truck damage would have been worse cause then we couldn't have towed out plus the insurance ded is higher and all that.

Holycow LG that must have been quite an experience; just looked at the photo bucket pictures. Glad to hear no personal injuries to your family. Thanks for the info about Eternabond's little patch singles holding on the bunk material so well; I'm going to get those for emergency possibilities too now. My camping friends are going to help me seal the whole kit'n'kaboodle of seams with the Ertnabond tape in a heated building over thanksgiving; seems like good stuff.
Here's hoping your family gets all the repairs and warranty work done soon and back out camping soon; our season is going to end in a month or so as we don't enjoy that southern style winter you do.

Good luck on the reapirs,
-Sarah-

Update!
The bunk end seal kit from Forest River arrived at house yesterday. Forest River called us today and inquired if we had the instructions and both packages (it comes in a square box and then a long round tube box) Thought that was nice.

The place doing the bunk end canvas replacement from the tree limb and also replacing the converter under warranty called today to say they had the converter and that the makers of the canvas called to say that it was shipping out tomorrow. Then the service guy mentioned that there was about a 20 difference because they didn't do the Alabama tax (Alabama taxes everything including the air you breathe for state, county and city- it's over 10% for us here) and that he would just absorb that but I called Progressive Insurance even though I'd already deposited their check , which they handled really fast and easy, and they are sending out the additional amount now.

We're going camping next week all week and trusting the EternaBond to hold and then due to other travel committments and work committments, our season is probably done and we will then take it in to service to have new bunkend canvas, new converter and new bunkdoor seals kit done.

Have to say once again, for us anyway, Big Props to Progressive Insurance, Forest River, JTSnuggles the canvas maker, WFCO converter, and our local Forest River certified tech for the fast and simple claimwork. The local FR certified tech even came to the camper at our house to do the verification and numbers paperwork- we never had to take it to him for that. very convenient! It will of course go to him for all the repairs and replacements at once next month or so, when we're ready to end the season.

If anyone wants photos of the pieces in the two boxes from Forest River for the bunkend seal kits, advise us, although I think it's been posted before, or the instructions. It's not a one person job.

As mentioned before, we actually have part of the 'fix kit' already on as it was put on at the factory before delivery to the dealer, only a small part of the seal is different. So guess we'll have all the extra seals and such to hold on to as spare parts as they sent the whole kit from Forest River to us.

We love a happy ending to a scary, upsetting event such as we had.

Glad to see ya'll had a happy ending.

We had a hybrid but ended up having major issues with the TPO roof, so we ended up replacing it with a TT.

You've probably already done so, but if not, you may want to check out Crockett Park in Lawrencburg, Tn. To me it's leaps and bounds better than Wheeler, even without site sewer connections. Crockett has very few pine trees, almost all hard woods. My profile pic was taken from Crockett. We were headed there on Thursday for a long weekend, but the rain killed that plan.

If I see a Roo with new canvas, I'll give out a holler.

Wow how scary! I am glad that everyone was okay and no one was in the bunk.

That is great how fast everything was handled so that you can get back out there and enjoy camping.

Our update:
The Roo was ready a few days ago but just was able to get off work on right times to get it to bring home yesterday.

We have new bunk end seals on both ends (although there was a puncture in the tall box and the little tube of caulk fell out and service guy provided that) and a complete new canvas end on the front bunk (service guy went ahead and wet the threads for us too) and a new WFCO converter (same model as was in there) Our cost after our Progressive insurance payment was less than 200 (our deductible was 188) The dealer only charged 100 for the labor of the bunkends. Originally had said 200, very nice guy. We came out pretty good because progressive reimbursed us an extra amount for the destroyed sportsmen blanket plus an extra amount for shipping for that and so on. We couldn't be more pleased with the way Progressive handled this and paid on it.

We swore we never had any leaks, however, the service guy ascertained there was a little moisture in the front bunk between the wood and the metal door itself - he has seen so many of every make and model with a curved front end that gets water that he took up the luan to be sure and sure enough. No damage from it yet, whew.

Very impressed with the way the new seals seal up. Much difference, more than I thought it would be. If you're on the fence about changing your seals, seriously- do it. Worth labor or your own time if you have someone to help you and do it right.

Kudos again to Jerry's RV Service (certified for Forest River and others) in Tuscumbia, AL. He also lists on Craigs List for used units that he remodels and he does a great job. We saw some campers he'd done on the lot and wow , great job. Also rents motorhomes cheaper than any rate I'd heard of before and other camper rentals too.

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVEN"T SMELLED OR SEEN ANY MOISTURE on your front bunk end doesn't mean some water hasn't come in, is my main message. DW and I were stunned when he told us and showed us that we did have some moisture probably from the heavy driving rains all month long when the tree limb fell through the bunkend roof, we had a lot of areas flooded bad then.
