Congratulations. We're thinking of moving up from an 08 Seneca to the Embark. What was the price range, 150 to 160? 160 to 170? 170 to 180? Just the range is good enough for posting here. Where did you buy it? Which options? I have never seen an actual Embark so I'm curious as to your impressions of the unit in comparison to the Seneca. (ride, air noise, engine noise, fit and finish etc.)

The Jayco web sight states 221,750 for baseline Embark. This is just information from their website(jayco.com). Wish I had one!bumpus4

If you shop and do your research, you can find Embarks for about 30%off of list. Several dealers offer good deals but I would be sure the dealer also had a good service department and even with a great price, you want to be sure the dealer will provide a complete and competent PDI before you exchange funds! And then I would "hang around" the area of the dealership, perhaps stay at a nearby campground, just to be sure all the initial bugs are worked out.

I have done more checking out on the Embark as compared to the Dynamax and have learned that while the Dynamax has a rubber insulator between the steel of the coach and the steel of the frame, the Embark does not. And while I have not had a chance to see one as the dealers in the West do not seem inclined to stock them, I am told the Embark does not ride smooth because it is steel welded to steel. I'd sure like to hear how the ride really is in the Embark, as well as with your multiple trips back to the factory in such a short time.

How about letting all of us know about the design flaws. I am interested as it is a model I was considering getting. Thanx

Are you really comparing apples to apples ? The Dynamax's I have looked at are priced considerably higher than the Embark.

I have found three dealers who will sell an Embark for about 30% off of list...around $163000 or so...and a good used Dynamax 30-35', 05-07 is around the same. Most Dynamax's seem to have less than 25000 miles, so a good buy. Probably a better product overall than Embark, but maybe not! Just hard to find an Embark to see and drive.

Please be aware of a few things to check very carefully!!!
1st.
There is no secondary slide topper for kitchen slide. So when it rains and your awning is not out, you must pay special attention that when you retract your slide that water does not pour into coach!!!! It happened to me!!! I addressed this issue with Jayco and have a letter stating that this is the way it is made. I must tilt the coach to drain water, get up on ladder to squeegee off water or towel dry..Nice Huh !!!! All this money and I have to towel dry my slide !!!!!!
2nd
All water connections were not properly tightened, major water leaks!! Went back to factory they fixed some, but did not put water heater back in properly, now door bows out!!! We decided to fix leaks ourselves to make sure they were done properly. Then report to Jayco !!!!
3rd
Upon trying to enjoy our vacation and new Embark we noticed another water leak from under chasse!!!! Well to make a long story short...Gray water tank has no middle support...so when getting close to full it fell off brackets and pulled all drain pipes that attached. We had Gray water running out of bottom of chasse!!!! Have been in touch with Jayco, but have given us the impression that they do not want to bother with us anymore!!!! We were given a 2 month service appt in order to deter us back to dealer!!! We are on the road and wanted it fixed when we went by factory.
4th
The driver side slide when retracted is gouging a hole inside coach ceiling. Had technician just look at the factory when we were there for leaks, he said wow, wonder how they are going to fix that!! It is not an adjustment problem it is a design flaw with wood work!! Some body did not measure correctly!!!!
5th
The interior workmanship has gone down hill as putty and ill fitting molding have taken away from the beauty.

Needless to say I am very upset with Jayco at this point, I had Seneca, but decided to upgrade for towing purposes.

Just please check it out carefully!!!! I really do love the truck, but I am very disappointed in spending this much money and Jayco taking no pride or customer satisfaction into consideration!!!!

I would write, CEO, Wilbur Bontrager, Pres. Darold Bontrager, and Sid Johnson, Director of Marketing. I sure sounds like you got one that was built during the downturn. The experience you are having is not "typical Jayco". With out going into details just had a friend who had a TT that was 3 yrs old that had a bad frame and they made sure it was taken care of..

Based on slittle1140's posts above I would like to here from other embark owners. The problems listed are very troubling as the unit in question sounds like a serious lemon. Jayco should contact these peiople immediatly to fix all the units faults or just exchange for a new one. If they did that it would definetely restore my faith in Jayco and I would continue with our plan to purchase an embark in the next year or so. Thanks to slittle1140 for making us aware of the embarks problems & I hope that they get some satisfaction quickly from Jayco. If there are other disgruntled embark owners out there they should band together to take on Jayco by legal means.
