I would not go more than a small Casita with a vehicle as small as a Liberty. It has the power, but not the physical size to easily pull much.

Does anyone have any experience with a 713FD Zoom by Thor supposedly this is an ultra lite trailer. There is one in my area for sale but not sure about the overall quality.

Thanks

You might want to look at the Trailmanor. they have several sizes, but since they are hard sided foldups, you may be able to pull a bigger trailer with that Jeep. I pull a 3124KS with a Honda Ridgeline. Does great. I get about 14 mpg.

Stay calm and try to adjust....

I agree 100%. The Liberty is a nice little Jeep, but the wbeelbase is very short and that makes it unsuitable for towing anything but the smallest trailer regardless of power.

There are a number of owners of fiberglass trailers on fiberglassrv.com who tow with Jeep Liberties. You may want to look over there for their experiences. One of our friends tows a 17' molded fiberglass trailer with a diesel Liberty and is very happy. They used to tow a T@b. Many of these trailers in the smaller sizes weigh about the same, or less, than a tent trailer.
You may found steep grades (both up and down) to be more of a challenge. Proper towing equipment will be important.
Whatever you decide, have fun.

I have friends that pull a T@B trailer with there Jeep Liberty. The T@B has a surge brake. The T@B weight in at about 1,200 lbs dry. My advice is to tow with big tow vehicle you can find. My friends don't have one bit of trouble with there T@B and Jeep. They just love there little rig and take it everywhere.

BTW: production of the T@B was suspended August 30, 2009 in the USA plant.
Parts are still available from over seas and through Dutchman Dealers.

I recently purchased a URV iCamp (manufactured in China) and so far I have no complaints. Mind you, it has only been in my driveway thus far, but I really like the layout and quality.

You might consider a 16' Scamp, larger than the 16' Casita in head room, lighter than the 17' Casita. Our Scamp

We have the Side Dinette, & keep the bed as a bed. Layout 6 ******** Video

Over on Casita Club forum as well as FiberglassRv forum, there are some towing with not only Jeep Liberties but with Jeep Wranglers & Rubicons. Casita's are made in Texas, should have more used ones around....but one never knows what will turn up. Maybe you can open this Classifieds
