Why not just tie in to your rooftop connection in the trailer?
Do you have the lighter/cable/antenna wall oulet?

Radio Shack has the adapter to go from the car antenna to coax( I posted it in a previous post in this thread)
There should be an extra coax IN on that wall outlet
Works like a charm
Antenna must be ON though

The radio end is your basic push on like an old car radio.
You need to replace that coax when you replace the antenna.
Cheap, and easy.
Just attach the ends to one another and pull the new coax through the wall/ceiling as you pull out the old.

I asked at Radio shack and they said they didn't have anything. Maybe I should just look myself. I tried pulling the old one thru the wall and it didn't budge.

It isn't a coax after all, it's more like a CB antenna with the big needle in the center. So that's a F connector? I haven't been able to get to Radio Shack, we've had cars in th eshop for the last 2 weeks...Trying for this weekend.

Its a MOTOROLA plug and Radio Shack has them
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102835

This plug will get you from the cable/coax on the rooftop antenna to your AM/FM stereo.
With the antenna on you will get GREAT reception.

herburban1 wrote: My old antenna rotted at the base. I bought a car one at autozone but it won't fit because the RV one has a coax connection and not a car one. I have checked Radio Shack and a bunch on Rv sites and can't find anything. Right now I have duct tape over the hole on the roof. Has anyone else had this problem? Solution?
How about just taking it back to Auto Zone and getting the right one?
