Um, your examples are WAY off. Normal conversation is 50-65. 120 is somewhere between a train and a rock concert!! Exposure to 120DB for more than a few minutes can cause hearing loss.

yes 120 is like a diesel train horn, pardon my faulty memory.
all the rest is correct.

@javaseuf, would i pay $499 for a $1600 yamaha, yes, in this case you did indeed get what you paid for, some would say you got more than what you paid for.

but i and many other are not going to pay $1600 for that same yamaha, apparently you are the same way, you waited until you could buy it for $499 instead of $1600

and yes Honeywell has been 'LEASING' their name for many products for many years, but i have NOT heard too many complaints about those products, so they must at least be a "little careful" about who they 'LEASE' their name too.

You mis-read my post. I paid $499.00 for the 2400 and $1600.00 for the 3000 watt. Two different generators.

What makes me even happier is I can get warranty service right down the street for no-charge for the next 5 years with the Yamaha extended warranty I purchased for a very reasonable cost.
Don't be too sure of that as they probably won't be in business for another year let alone 5, times are a changing.

I didn't mis-read anything, you bought a yammy 2400watt for $499

what is the MSRP of the yammy 2400 ? $1200-$1600 ? certainly NOT $499

I said i would also spend $499 to get a yammy 2400 MSRP approx $1600

the MSRP of the 3000watt is more than the $1600 you gave

a honda 2000 sells for $900-$1200 ? the continuous rating is 1800 watts

best price is 2 watts per dollar , $0.50 per watt and goes up from there

my champion 3000 watts continuous rated (adv) likley closer to 2800watts cost $300 thats 10 watts per dollar OR $0.10 per watt

the honeywell inverter on sale $299 rated 2000 continuous 6.7 watts per dollar OR $0.15 per watt

a big difference than honda or yammy alot less $$ per watt cost OR more watts per dollar

your 2400 watt yammy was $499, an exceptional deal, you got lucky
comes out to 4.8 watts per dollar spent or $0.25 per watt
a lot better deal than the avg buyer gets when buying a honda or yammy at 50 cents a watt, you it for 1/2 or less of the avg online sale

Father's Day, isn't it wonderful

so far i'm very impressed with the Quality, the sound level and the way it runs

it even runs my 11.5k BTU roof top A/C

for $299 sale price at Home Depot makes this an fantastic value,
having run it today, I can say it was a good deal even at the original price of $499

2000 watts continuous 2100 peak, eco/efficiency mode yada..yada

Day 2

I ran (1) roof top Dou Therm 11.5k A/C for 4.5 hrs on (1) tank of gas (1.5 gallons listed tank size)

I did turn the compressor off for a few minutes to use the MW, no problem with restart.

with all circuit breaker OFF except for the A/C ( and fan running )it would not start the A/C compressor the HW would die when I turned the knob to AC, with the wfco on and charging at 20 amps or less, the HW started the A/C compressor with hardly a blip

i'm guessing that the Fan motor was not enough of a load and the RAMP UP (for the generator)was too far to go .. too fast. and with the wfco converter powered on the ramp up difference was less. and more easily managed

200+ watt converter load VS the fan load ??

the warm restart needs the choke on and, the choke at the 1/2 point when i plug in the shore cord, or it dies when i plug in the cord, even with fully charge batteries,

i can live with these little quirks and they might even go away after the motor and linkage 'wears in', i expect that everything is a little stiff when new and not 'broke in' and this slows down response times

It appears to be made by the same Chinese manufacturer as my Magna SX-3000 digital/inverter generator which is a 3000 watt unit with boost. It starts my 13,500 AC while in econo-mode without any problem. It is a quiet unit and only puts out 59db at full throttle. I'm real happy with mine.
