tires

Some body must not like me because last night someone used what appears to be an ice pick on all 4 tires on my new Chevy Cobalt.ONe poke per tire.
Is there anything that can be used on the sidewall to fix holes like this?

RE: 5ver traveling between Grand Canyon's South & North Rim

For a $10 fee ( last time we were there with our motorhome) you get an escort through the center of the tunnel with an RV. Also, as above, no problem with the road South Rim to North Rim.

RE: Wheel Bearings

The grease fittings on your TT can NOT be over greased. They are not like bearing buddies where you have to worry about springs and grease getting on your brakes. Any excess grease will end up in the grease cap as it comes out the front. The grease goes in the center and greases the rear bearing first then makes a 180 degree turn and follows a tube to grease the outer bearing and then comes out as I said in front.

RE: Chicago Electric Generator

Thanks MrWizard. I just got one and ran it for awile in the garage.( door open)
It's pretty quiet, doesn't smoke, and it's very small and light. I have a Champion 3500/4000. It's way to heavy for me to move around. I use a winch to load and unload it from my truck. I am 65 and a disabled Vietnam Vet so light it has to be.

Chicago Electric Generator

Any one familiar with Harbor Freights Chicago Electric 800 watt 2 cycle generator? $89.00 on sale. Looks like it would even be handy around the house for power tools instead of a long extension cord.

RE: When does the snow melt along the Mogollon Rim of Arizona?

I wouls second the Prescott National Forest. Closer for you and about 2K ft lower than the rim. Lynx Lake campground is very nice. Just a few miles south of Prescott on a hard surface road. A lot of things fairly close for day trips etc.

RE: Highway 89 from Fredonia to Marble Canyon

From Mountain West Directory. Northbound descent 6 miles of 6% grade. Curvy, but not sharp curves.
Southbound 10 miles of 5 to 6% grade. 35 mile curves with several 30 mile switchbacks near the bottom.
Some long dropoffs, but generally a good road.

RE: Champion 3500 watt RV generator

It's a good deal and a good generator. If you can afford 2500 dollars to ocasionally run the AC go for the Honda.

RE: About Hideouts

The floor plan of the 19 ft. Hideout is the same as our now sold 04 Fleetwood Pioneer. Loved it. It shrunk this summer on a 4 week trip and we bought a new 23 Ft. Hideout in Aug. Great trailer, great value.

RE: Winter travelling around Flagstaff/ Sedona

Nov. to March in Flagstaff could be pretty cold and snowy. Sedona is a little lower in elevation and less so. It's pretty nice there in the summer.

RE: Greasing axle bearings with grease fittings

There seems to be a lot of confusion about Dexter Easy Lube axles. There is no rear seal to blow out. There is no way to contaminate the brakes with grease. The excess comes out the front as previously stated. Just jack up each wheel seperately and rotate while adding grease. Use a bottle jack or floor jack under each axle close to the spring.

RV queen bed linens

Just bought a new Keystone Hideout with a front queen bed. Where is a good place to buy a matress pad and sheets to fit? It's 60 " wide and 74" long.

RE: Lake Pleasant, AZ

There are a couple of Federal ( I think ) campgrounds on the west side of the lake. Very nice. Stayed there last fall for a few days. There is a private campground by the Marina on the east side of the lake.

no electric in TT

We had our walk through on our new TT a couple weeks ago and everything worked just fine. I just picked it up yesterday. On the way home my brake controler was reading S H for short. I didn't have any TT brakes when trying the manual lever. When I got home there weren't any lights in the trailer. Either battery or shore power. I know the parasitic draw on the battery will take it down, but I would think everything would work on shore power. I am charging the battery overnight.
I really hate to take it back already. Any ideas?

RE: Where to list 5th whl 4 sale in Orange County, CA ?

We just sold our TT. Tried the newspaper. Nothing. Craigs list not much. Craigs list with pictures and we couldn't keep up with the calls. Sold right away for a fair price.
