RE: Daylight savings time yea or nay

I wish we would run on the "summer" time year round. I dislike the "winter" schedule because it gets dark at suppertime. I'd rather have that extra hour of daylight in the evenings. I say make Daylight Savings time the permanent time. Ditto.

RE: Generac Generator won't run with choke off

Had same problem with one of my Hondas. Was a dirty carb. Just add fresh gas with seafoam and run using choke for a while. It will eventually clean the gunk out and run normal again.

RE: NEWS FLASH Bears live in the woods

I once camped in an area where black bears had been reintroduced into the wild and there were signs everywhere warning about bear encounters. The signs stated and I quote "DO NOT FEED OR MOLEST BEARS". I have known a few people that wanted to feed the bears but I have never known or heard of anyone brave enough to molest one.

RE: Jayco 31.5 RLDS

I appreciate everyones vote of confidence in Jayco. Since we are already on our second Jayco TT we are very familiar with their warranty and product quality. We were just hoping to hear from someone that already had the 31.5 RLDS. Since it is a new model this year we were wanting to hear any issues, likes or dislikes from someone who actually had one.

RE: Wish people would mind their own business....

I have a coworker who has a sign hanging in his office that says "We are not happy until you are not happy". I think some people live by that as their motto.

Jayco 31.5 RLDS

Jayco 31.5 RLDS super lite. DW and I looked at one this weekend at the Tarrant County RV show in Fort Worth. Thinking seriously about ordering one. Does anyone own one? Any information, issues or problems you would like to share would be appreciated.

RE: HawksHead TPMS

We have had ours for a few trips and it works great. Love the peace of mind knowing my trailer tires are okay. restorodder - you can turn the unit off if you aren't using it simply by pushing down and holding the middle button until it turns off. It will beep and go into set mode but don't let up off the button until it goes off. To turn back on simply push the middle button again till it turns on.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot imagine life without my spouse either. You will be in our prayers.

RE: 6.4 Powerstroke radiator leak

I bought my 08 F250 with 6.4 in October of 2007. No problems or leaks yet with 44,000 miles on it. Did get the notice for the Venturi Tee and the reflash earlier this year and had both done at the same time. I love mine and would by another if this one ever wears out.

RE: CB radio recommendation

We use the Cobra CB that you mentioned when traveling with other campers. Never had a problem with bad language and even if you do you can change to another channel.

RE: Generator Question

I might be one of the few people to have owned both a Champion and Honda. I can tell you that to me the Champion is just too loud to take camping unless you will be boondocking at least 100 yards from your nearest neighbor. I had the Champion but did not use it much camping as I don't like that much noise and felt guilty subjecting others to it. But there are many out there with Champions that don't feel the same about noise as I do. Last winter at Big Bend we had someone camp next to us with a Champion that seemed to feel the need to run it all day. They would leave for hours exploring the park I guess then go inside. The noise obviously did not bother them. Fortunately they did turn it off at night during quiet hours. We only ran our Honda for a couple of hours to top off the batteries. Point is get what you need and can afford but be considerate of others.

RE: GPS for Dummies

Actually the one I saw at Frys was the FD-420 model with the 4.3" screen. It has blue tooth capabilities, SD card slot and other capabilities. It has touch screen and uses Navteq maps. Price was $119.99. Just thought I would ask if anyone had one and what they thought about it. Obviously Garmin is probably the industry standard.

RE: GPS for Dummies

The actual device. Was looking at GPS devices in Frys and saw these right next to the Garmins. The price was good but was not familiar with them and was wondering if anyone has one and how they like it.
