RE: MVPRV ENVY TOYHAULER

Their email doesn't work either so I guess they finally closed the doors? From their press releases it sounded like the electric car deal was going to keep them in business. Well if it doesn't bother you and you can find a unit then you should be able to get a better deal.

RE: MVPRV ENVY TOYHAULER

Is MVP still in biz? No they are gone. What have you heard? As on November 24th they were still in business.

RE: MVPRV ENVY TOYHAULER

As far as the underbelly, I an not sure why the don't but my guess is that it is a southern California company that mainly just sales units on the west coast. I actually like the fact that it isn't in closed since I have easy access to everything if needed. We have had some really cold nights that have been below freezing and had no issues with water in my lines or tanks. As far as the 2500HD and pulling, I don't have any issues with mine. I have the taller 265 tires and the 3.73 gearing so my only complaint is it is geared higher than I would like. As far as the weight and handling though it does just fine. The Envy you are looking at is a little longer so I am not sure what the pin weight would really be. The listed pin weight is about the same. I have not seen any Envy's actually for sale and like I said the factory did shut down earlier in the year to ride out the slow times instead of going under. That didn't bother me but it is something to consider if you are worried about something major like the wall structure. Everything except the "box" is covered under their own warranties anyway.

RE: MVPRV ENVY TOYHAULER

As far as I know they are still in business. The did close down production back in May I think? They are working on a side deal to build some electric vehicles for Korea. At least this will put some people back to work and get the an alternative flow on money until things pick back up in the RV world.

RE: MVPRV ENVY TOYHAULER

Hey All, Does anyone have or know someone with an 38TSSSA Envy Hauler from MVPRV? How do they compare to the Cyclone, Raptor, Fuzion, etc. I'm looking for a hauler with a king bed and comfort for 2 people, not 10 or 12.. Want to haul the Harley and a gas golf cart. Thanks for any help... Regards, Hamshog I have the Tahoe 395TIB which is basically the same trailer with a queen bed. The Envy has some extra finishing touches but 98% is the same as the Tahoe I have. We have been very happy with it and the only problems I have had are things I have taking care of myself. Almost every trailer from any manufacture will have some small things to take care of. We looked at the Raptors and Fuzions and ended up liking the layout of our Tahoe better. The Fusions have some options like electric awnings and rear jacks along with an in closed underbelly that I don't have. For me there was over a 10k difference in price so the options I didn't get weren't worth the extra 10k. If the prices are equal, I might lean towards the Fuzion for a slightly higher end unit but if the price difference was like it was for me, I wouldn't hesitate to get the Envy. Also if you will be spending a lot of time in freezing conditions, the Fuzion would be a better option since the tanks are in closed and not an open underbelly like the MVP trailers.

RE: Toyhauler and size truck

I 2nd the Michelin LTX tires. That is what I have always run and my last two are the LTX2 tires, it is a new an improved version. Different compound and a little different tread pattern.

RE: Toyhauler and size truck

I would assume the lengths you are looking at you should be fine. Check your weights but I am pulling a 39' with a 2500HD 8.1 and it does great. Even fully loaded I am still under my axle rating but I am over on the GVWR and GCVWR. It stops great and I was much more stable pulling in the wind than my friend was pulling his 30' tow trailer. You will get many different opinions on what you can and can't do with your 2500HD. You need to decide for yourself and do your research. Good luck,

RE: Awenings for Slides

If it was my choice I wouldn't have a unit WITH them. I hate them for my camping needs. There is normally always some kind of wind and they end up keeping me up half the night from the flapping. My first two motorhomes had them and they didn't stop the rain at all. The rain would just blow in from the side so the slides had water on them anyway. The only benefit I personally ever had was with leaves just falling off when the slides came in. The noise at night with the wind is enough for me to never want them again. It all depends on what your needs are.

Thanks Nayther, that is the site I was referring to in my post but I didn't catch that I forgot to include it. :o

RE: Cool link for old racers

Here is another one with old racing stuff. Our club was formed back in 1965 I believe and we put on our first race in 1967. If anyone is interested in District 37 desert racing, just let me know. http://www.offroadtoybox.com/viewfinders/View121x149.gif

RE: Stock 8.1 pulling 15k pounds without damage ?

I am pulling around 16K with mine and have no issues. The tranny temp has never gone past the 200 mark. The problem with the limp mode is as you said, the chipped diesels end up putting out more torque than the tranny pump can deal with. There have been some pretty good explanations of what is happening. The stock 8.1 performs really well IMHO even with my 265 over-sized tires.

RE: Fuzion Recall

As far as the axle rating, try getting under the unit and look at the axle tubes. My Dexter axles have the rating stamped on the tube.

RE: What's your favorite feature and biggest gripe

See my sig for what unit I have. The major things we wanted were a 12' garage, glass sliding doors into the garage, island kitchen and a fully in-closed bathroom. We are very happy we got all of the above items in our unit. Putting aside the little things that you always need to take care of when buying one of these things, I haven't really found any gripes just yet. If I had to come up with one, it would be my tables at the couch. They are a little small and only have 1 pole leg support. The one is pretty solid but the other one is a little wobbly.

RE: Traveling with the electric bunks down

Like he said, I would worry most about the support tabs for the upper bunk. If you look at how the bed rests on them, there is very little metal contact area. The constant bouncing and moving around might were the corner edges down or something. I don't know if I would worry about anything else except this issue.

RE: Brand new Raptor, FIreplace problems...

It sounds like the unit thinks it is overheating and turning itself off. Is there any sensors you can check?

RE: California Trailer registration fee

Good Gawd, what do they charge you to hug a tree over there? No wonder finances are so bad over there, all the taxes sound counter productive to have the economy to move forward. On the other hand it must be a good buisness to move used vehichles into the state. I am not sure about the used vehicle part. My 2002 truck just cost me right at $350 for it's tags. You also have to pay California sales tax on a vehicle when you bring it into the state. They get you no matter what.

RE: Progressive insurance

I just switched from my motorhome with them to my TH in July. Had to cancel the one and get a new policy for the TH because of a gap between selling and buying. Didn't have any problem getting it and haven't seen anything since. I have always heard good things about Progressive and any claims people have had. AAA is another story though.

Look at my picture. Bought new in Dec 08. Just got the bill. Anyone wanna guess ? 1,900?

RE: California Trailer registration fee

I paid my motorhome right before it went up. It was around 500. I bought my trailer for about half the price of the motorhome and was hoping for lower fees. The trailer was around 550! Don't you love California!
