RE: Would You Buy an Out of Business Brand

Depending on build date, many of the components in WW and Ragens would still be covered under manufacture's warranty.

RE: Glamis- camping area question?

i think i found info on the mammoth wash area on americansandassociation.org
i seem to recall there are some tricks to getting there, not sure on "safe" places for little riders

RE: Cab to Trailer Clearance Gauge?

I use a piece of flat plastic screwed to the pin box. Adjust the length to just touch the bed when your required cab to cap clearance is reached. Looking thru the rear mirror you can see when the plastic touches the bed.
good one, thanks!

RE: Cab to Trailer Clearance Gauge?

yea, i think i'll try some tape on the trailer:
probably placed so that when it goes out of (or comes into?) the side mirror's view, i would be getting into the danger zone.
not a precise method due to seat, head and mirror position variances, but could still add in some fudge factor......
hopefully this will keep me from misjudging things.
thanks again yalls, love rv.net

RE: Cab to Trailer Clearance Gauge?

steve....
now we're talkin!
i think i have a winner here!
maybe i can do the same with reflector tape placed just right so that it disappears / appears near the limit. yeah, that should work with a little field engineering.
thanks!

RE: Cab to Trailer Clearance Gauge?

good point about the grade affecting the clearance, mile high - but I don't see myself installing a car alarm for this purpose!
kernewek..... the corner of the trailer will touch the truck - kind of behind the corner of the cab........ so it isnt apparent thru the rear window or with the mirrors.
thanks yalls

Cab to Trailer Clearance Gauge?

For those of us with clearance issues... (no debate here on which equipment should have / could have used...)
Does anybody use some sort of method to monitor trailer to cab clearance while backing close to 90? Without using your spouse.
Seems like some sort of suction cup flag sticking up on the bed rail placed acurately might work?
