Carnation, Washington

We are thinking about pulling our trailer to Geowoodstock VIII next July which will be held in Carnation, WA. Carnation is east of Seattle, maybe 15 miles. Anybody have any suggestions of places to stay in that area?

RE: Glow In The Sky: A Bird? A Plane?

But then, there is (or was) the system that pumped the contents of your RV black tank into the exhaust header pipe so it would vaporize and go out the exhaust pipe! I kinda wish I could find one of them...
Remind me to never say "I love the smell of diesel in the morning"!! Be sure to put one of those "back off" signs on the rear of your rig, just to be courteous. :B

RE: August in Texas

I especially like the one about stepping outside at 7:30 and breaking into a sweat. I did that this morning down here in Houston!

RV Parks near The Woodlands, TX

Anybody know a good park near The Woodlands? I will be staying another week and would much rather stay in my own bed. I see one near Conroe, but are there others?
Any input appreciated!!

RE: Potty fighting back

First, thanks for all the suggestions and input. I dumped last night and flushed really well. Then I crawled up on the roof and pulled the vent cap off. There was a spider web or nest at the top of the pipe, so I removed it and ran a hose down. We had the drain open and nothing solid came out as I ran the water down the pipe.
After all that, I flushed the toilet and no more burping potty! Whether it was the spider web, solid buildup or holding tank too full, I don't know. What I do know is it is working just fine now.
thanks again and happy camping!

RE: Potty fighting back

We're also getting more odor inside than normal. Either my wife is eating more beans or..... I think it's a blocked vent.
So how do I check the vent?

RE: Staff Sergeant John C. Beale

Thank you for sharing. I cried my eyes out remembering my father, a WWII vet, who was so proud very of his country until the day he died. He said "this is the greatest country in the world" and he meant every word. We should all thank a vet, regardless of which war, for his or her service to our country. They pay the price for our freedom.

Potty fighting back

OK, there may be a thread someplace on the forums, but I didn't find it. Our potty is fighting back. When we push the peddle, it bubbles and spews before the contents go down the hole. While this may sound funny, it's not! It's like the tank if full of gas and it is trying to.....well, what is the word? It's like it has gas and is trying to expel it. (I know the word, but am trying to keep it clean)
So, what I suspect is the vent is plugged up. We just came back from New Mexico which is at a much higher altitude, but by opening the potty, I would think the pressure has equalized. the ONLY thing I can think of is a blocked vent.
What do you guys think?
I really don't want to flush and have the potty spew its, ummmmm, stuff back at us!

RE: Jackson, ms and Ft Benning GA

See if the soon to graduate 'ranger' can 'sponsor' you into a camp site at the on-base family campground. Generally base/post commanders will allow assigned members to 'sponsor' one unit into the famcamp.
Thank you for the suggestion. Now if we can just get him on the phone!!

RE: Jackson, ms and Ft Benning GA

DW was in the Army, but that was about 25 years ago, so she has no DOD or military ID. We looked at the park on base and she may try to call on it to see if there is any way.....I am not holding out hopes on that.
My wife's baby boy is graduating Ranger school the middle of July and this is probably the last time we'll get to spend much time with him before he ships out to his duty station in Italy. Wonder if they have RV parks there? lol
Thanks for the input. We'll see what we can come up with.

Jackson, ms and Ft Benning GA

We are traveling from DFW to Ft. Benning in July. It looks like Jackson, MS if half way, so we are looking for a place near Jackson to overnight and then a place near Ft. Benning to spend a couple of days. I would prefer to stay relatively near the interstate in the Jackson area, but am open to recommendations. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
