RE: Dometic Refer Recall - Possible Fire Hazard -Update 2/13/07

Well my Dometic Refrigerator went out. Going to let Camping World put a new one in. Am wondering if the new units will work longer than the last or should i expect 3 yrs of service than a leak all over? Also i want to make sure i get a unit thats new and not one thats been sitting around along time. Guess it probally won't matter, what do you guys think?
HEH-- good luck on any of that..

RE: Another Dometic Fridge Problem

Putting a new fridge is a cake walk if your the least bit handy. Like I said a bit above, I did the coils in mine when it leaked and it wasent that bad but it was a job. Putting a new fridge will take you about 2 hours. It will slide in and out after you do the disconects. .

RE: how to determin ramp capacity

We are looking for a small 3/4 seat vehicle to take with us camping (golf cart, NEV, buggy, etc) - how can I determine the capacity of our 2007 Cherokee Wolfpack WP295? the cargo capacity is 2000 lbs.
I realize there might be clearance issues, I can work on that - more concerned about the door holding up a potentially 2000 lb vehicle.
thanks!
You just answered your own question.......
I would think that "ramp" capacity and "cargo" capacity are two seperate animals in this question but maybe not.
You could just start getting vehicles and put them on the ramp and see when it pops, but of course just don't go over the 2000 lbs of the cargo limit..

RE: Another Dometic Fridge Problem

Its an easy fix--if you have done as few before. You have to replace the whole cooling coils in the rear of the fridge. Its at least a 4-6 hour job with $400.00 in parts if you do it yourself.
I did ours so I do know what it's about and it aint a pretty job, but I saved over a grand doing it myself.

RE: Dish Network- I own rcvr & ant, can I do month to month?

With Dish Now I understand you cannot receive local stations. What about the major networks, the ones that get you either east coast (New York City) or west coast (Los Angeles) major stations?
If you cannot get the local stations AND you cannot get the major networks, is there a way to get the news? Can you get, say, CNN or Fox News, or ?
Glenn
Dish now is the setup I put in the rv pretty recently and it was way worth it. You do get all the CNN, Fox, ABC all that stuff. With the dish now you can choose your lineup, movie package and all the reset-How you want it. That was why we got it to get what we want with no contracts and to kick it back on when we pull out the rv for another road trip.
Buying the programming is done 2 ways-
Go to radio shack and buy a card--with a radio shack card you must use it all at once.
Go to the pharmacy-target-walmart----
And get a GreenDot money pack card--you put down how much you want to spend on the chanell lineup you want i/e 20-30-500 $$
You call the dish now automated system and go through the deal, its not that hard after the 3rd-4th time.
Generally in about 2 minutes you guide will show all the updated listings and it will also message the screen as to how much time you have left on that listing type -i/e movies or basics.
There is only 1 type of box that works in the dish now system.
You need a dual lnb receaver to get your setup right.

RE: Dish Now

The Dish now is a prepaid deal. Only the receaver is the biggest part that you HAVE to buy straight from Radio Shack or Dish themselves. On the Antennea-it has to be the dual lnb (110-119) That is the way the programming is setup on that system.

RE: Satellite Dish,got signal,now what..Help!

I kinda had the same issue learning from scratch and doing lots of reading here and getting input. This threadwill help out some and also show some other mods that others have done. I can now fold the lnb arm after a very easy mod.

RE: Extended Warranty

RV ProCare is a pretty new warranty company. I would like to see who they are under written by, or are they an actual warranty company themselves..?
The biggest thing is to get a clear understanding of what is "not covered". That one will always suprise people if they don't get it clear with themselves.

RE: Roof resealed

1,300-dang! I usually reseal mine with about 20 bucks of caulking from home depot, and that covers the whole rig, and I do that every 6 months...
It sounds like you had some more entailed re-sealing going on there. I would be asking for a walk through of what the batman went on.

RE: Slides in kitchen

The only gripe in ours is that you can't open the kitchen drawers with the slide closed, so parking overnight-you have to remember.
Other than that, go for it.

If you get a chance-see or ask if there is a auto-reset type breaker on that slide.

RE: I GOTTA LEAK !!

That tire is fine. Get the proper mushroom pull through patch device to seal the hole and patch it from the inside. The dents in those tires are fine as well.
When I worked for Discount Tire I can still remember all the odd things we pulled out of tires: deer horns, lawnmower blades, screw drivers, bolts, rocks, brake pads, keys, forks.......even a 12" crecent wrench out of a large truck tire.
