Ruff House Boarding in Oshkosh, WI
We're invited to a wedding in Oshkosh in June, and since we'll be at a motel with other family members, we can't have Champ with us. I came across this facility - Ruff House Pet Resort - in Oshkosh and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this place. I need a place to board him overnight on Saturday, and would like to pick him up Sunday morning. We're combining this wedding with a biking trip where we can bring Champ and leave him at the cottage we'll be staying at while we bike, so we basically need the boarding facility the night of the wedding. If you can suggest other places in or near Oshkosh, please let me know. Thanks to all who read and reply.

So very sorry for the loss of Oreo. I am hesitant to have my dog's teeth cleaned at this point in his life - he is almost 12 and has a deteriorating liver function. I wish anesthesia was safer, both for pets and humans. My sister was severely incapacitated from an anesthetic administered during a procedure in October, and I just lost her last week. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

My loss
For all those who ever prayed for my sister Marie in Atlanta who had kidney disease, I thank you, and want to let you know she passed away last night. I saw her 2 weeks ago and said my good-byes at that time. Marie was a gentle, loving soul, and I will never forget her kindness. Rest in peace, my dearest sister.

It's Thursday, and that doggie is hardly limping at all! Causing me all that worry, but I'm glad he's improving. He's getting up and down the steps better too, and doesn't seem to be in any pain. The snow is melting here in our yard, and it's not slippery out there like it was since January, so maybe he'll be o.k. now. Thanks for your concern and good thoughts, and here's hoping all our furry babies stay well.

Well, Champ is limping less today. I checked his paws for foreign objects, but this morning he seemed much better and this afternoon continues to improve. Maybe he hurt his hip getting in and out of our car last week while we were traveling. I'll still keep an eye on him and hope he'll continue his recovery. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and suggestions.

Champ is limping
This started over a week ago, but it was barely noticeable then. We were visiting family in Georgia last week, and it seems to have gotten worse since we came home Sunday. He is favoring his right rear leg, and it seems to be turning inward when he walks. I spoke to my vet about it today when I picked up his food, and he suggested that if it wasn't better by Thursday that we bring him in for an x-ray. Hopefully it won't turn out to be something like what Dieter is facing with Hershey. He doesn't seem to be in pain and I can't remember him slipping or falling anywhere. His appetite is good and he still dances around when he wants his treats, so I don't know what to think. These dogs can really worry you for even the slightest thing.

Have you checked out veterinarians in the town nearest the campground where you are staying? Sometimes they do doggie day care. I have done this successfully in a number of places, from Colorado to Wisconsin. Be sure to call the veterinarian and ask what proof of vaccinations are required, and flea treat your dog before you go. PM me if you need more info, and good luck!
