I-75 from ambasador bridge at Detroit

Hi,
Has anyone used the bridge into Detroit from Windsor lately and got on I-75 South. There was a lot of construction last year, is it cleared up?

RE: Florida Thunderstorm Warnings - awning in or out ?

Another vote to get that thing in!
Better safe than sorry. Having experienced the getting out in the rain in the middle of the night, I can say to bring it in. Heck, I really don't leave mine out much at all if I am not within range to get there and put it in if needed. Those winds can come up really fast sometimes.
Enjoy Florida! We need the tax revenue.
I was not very safe, Came back to the rig in Clermont FL and one arm of the awning was on the roof other arm went thru the bedroom wall.
Always In.

RE: How many miles is too many for Ford V10?

One thing to check if possible is which oil the prior owner used. Ford requires a synthetic blend at a minimum (5w20 specified, 5w30 ok). Running conventional oil, or a heavier oil (like 10w40) will cause some valve noise in the V10 after while.
Just got our first oil change a the Ford Dealer where we purchased our 2009 V-10 Superduty...No mention of synthetic oil???

RE: Warning about carrying a lot of cash ( esp.Canadians)

Maddog thinks its funny and he thinks he is funny. I hope it happens to him some day so we can share his humor. It was not at a toll booth but the official welcome center. Two different situations that I know of because they are in our campground. How many others, I don't know. They were both Canadians.
Shame on you for wishing that on another person.

RE: Warning about carrying a lot of cash ( esp.Canadians)

Missouri has the Right to Carry law.
A robber just might get shot.
A Canadian cannot cross your border with a GUN of any sort without declaring it. Hand guns, forget it....Hunting rifles must be bonded in transit.
Why does no one use Travelers Checks for purchases. We have never had a problem cashing them.

RE: What do you do with all your money??

TD Borderless Service US account for us. We fill the account with US funds whenever exchange rate is low like the present. Use the US fund Master Card that comes with the account for most purchases over the winter in the south. Have pre authorized payment. Take some US cash and some US traveler checks ( no charge for seniors ) for situations where they will not take Plastic.
It's worked for us for 12 years.

How about the Webster Flea Market
Terry
Or if you're into farmers markets you can come over and ride over to Eustis with us for the Thursday AM market. Gary
Headed from Ohio to Key West December 27th (I hope). Good to se some Ohio/Florida snowbirds on this blog. Will stay in Ft Myers a few days and then Miami/Homestead a week before ending up at Key West for 3 months. Have a great winter.

RE: So who's in the Snowbird class of 09/10

We usually leave Dec.26 ( boxing day ) no traffic for Tucson AZ. This year we are leaving on Dec. 3rd. Will not have to worry about snow, ice on roof of our RV, getting to old to climb up and remove. Daughter and boyfriend are flying into Tucson on the 24th for a week.

RE: How Many Miles Before Towing?

My question is: How many miles (break-in period) do i need to put on my new truck before I can tow? Does it matter if the miles are freeway or city? My 2010 Chevy HD2500 Duramax 4 x 4 is arriving next Monday! Can't wait!!! Looking forward to towing with a diesel. I have a WW FS2500 superlite trailer. 8000 lbs loaded.

Goodyear Marathon Tires

We are leaving for a long weekend camping trip. My Goodyear Marathon ST 235/80R16 load range E are down about 7 to 8 lbs. I must drive approx. 5 miles to an air pump. Will the tire temp go up enough to make an allowance for heat.

RE: Out of Country Medical

Hi
We use "MEDIPAC" endorsed by the Canadian Snowbirds Association and the Royal Canadian Legion. Have had claims and always taken care of to our satisfication. Would recommend the Canadian Snowbirds Association to all Canadian Snowbirds.

RE: Question on Timbren install, 2008 F250

Thanks Ken, the price here is $250.00 CAN. I will take a look at their web site. If there is an out-of-country cost I will wait until we get to Tucson and then order a pair.
Thanks again,

RE: Question on Timbren install, 2008 F250

Hi Ken,
We just got our 2009 F250 XLT Super Duty V-10 and are going to put Timbrens on. Have had them on my last 2 trucks. I see you are in New Mexico and wondering what they cost down there. We are in Canada where EVERYTHING costs more. We spend the winters in Tucson AZ, and if price difference is great will wait until we get down there to buy them. If you prefer not to post the price you could send us a private message.
Thanks

RE: Ontario Snowbirds

Hi all,
In MHO every Canadian traveling to the US or Mexico for any length of time should belong to the Canadian Snowbirds. Still only $25,00 per year. Much info and they are always working on legislation to help us Snowbirds.
