RE: Towed Question?

That should be plenty of money to cover it if you do the work yourself. Check out Ready Brake It has the brake system built into the tow bar.

RE: New Tires @ 6 Years?

I agree with Randy A. I had my Goodyears inspected and replaced the fronts when they were 10 years old and the rear duals when they were 11 years old. I am still running the tags at 12 years old.

RE: Aux Starter switch

Did you have the "battery disconnect switch" turned off for the house batteries?

RE: Where is the power mirror fuss on 2001 Pace Arrow?

My dash has a wire prop on the right side of the steering wheel that holds it up.

RE: Tow Bars which is Better?

I have the Excalibar and have not had any problems with it. Demco rebuilt it for free at a Rally two years ago. I needed a couple of plastic plugs for it and they shipped them to me for free. I added the ReadyBrake to it a couple of years ago and am happy with it. Like the previous poster said if I was buying a new one I would buy the tow bar with the brake built into it Ready Brute. A friend I travel with bought one in December and is happy with it.

RE: Tire age replacement

Mine are Goodyear and I have them inspected at my local Goodyear Store. The fronts were 10 years old when I replaced them. I replaced the drive tires at 11 years and am still running 12 year old tires on the tags. I know I will get slammed for running tires this old. The only blow out I've had was last month on a drive tire that was less than a year old. So nobody knows when a tire will fail.

RE: air bag tricks?

I have replaced air bags twice for friends. Bluegrsr outline is the way I did it, except I also used a hose clamp to help compress the bags to put the plastic wire tires on.

RE: Toad wiring-diode issue

We installed diodes in my friend's Tracker about three years ago. They are still working fine. We got the Diodes at Radio Shack for $.89 each.

RE: cell phone amplifiers: would you recommend one?

I have the Wilson 811210 amp with the trucker's antenna. It works great. Except a few weeks ago it quit working. I called Wilson Electronics and even though it was out of warranty they agreed to replace it. I am waiting on it now. If I had it to do over again I would get the wireless model amplifer. My wife and I both like to use our phones at the same time and with the velcro connection you can't. I have been able to get cell phone coverage when I could not get any bars without an amplifier. If you have any other questions let me know.

RE: Same DISH 1000.2 for North Carolina and Wyoming?

I have a 1000.4 and I'm getting satellites 77W, 72.7W and 61.5. We're in Florida now and have used it from South Carolina to here. I just had Dish Network put in my stick house in December and that is what I was set up with.

RE: Sailun truck tires from China...problem free.

I'm glad you had good luck with them. I bought four Sailun tires at McGee Tires in Daytona Beach last year. After having them balanced twice and having them taken on and off the motorhome several times, we realized that two or more of them were out of round. I got zero help from McGee Tires. Luckily I was able to trade them in for Goodyear tires when I got home. I lost a lot of time and money getting them replaced.

RE: onan

I got an oil filter wrench that fits on the end of the filter and you use a ratchet to turn it when I changed mine the first time. I replaced the filter with one that sticks out about an inch further than the stock one. That made it a lot easier to change after that. I think the filter was a NAPA Gold 7398.

RE: Amish/Ohio

Scenic Hills is where we stayed last fall. Evergreen Resort is nice but a little pricey.

RE: Anybody have/use a portable icemaker?

We bought ours from Home Depot over 4 years ago and would not be without it. Ours is not a freezer, just an ice maker. You pour water into it and it makes ice in a few minutes. If the ice melts before you use it, it just continues to make it and keeps the storage area full. We use it contstantly. If it ever quits working we'll replace it immediately. We have an ice maker in the refrigator but unhooked it to use the space for freezer items.

RE: Hydralic Jacks Leaking

You don't say what brand your jacks are. Mine are PowerGear and I have replaced the seals in two jacks and now a third is leaking. The kit from PowerGear is about $100 and I installed them myself.

RE: New Dish Network

I just had Dish Network put in our stick house in December. I have the VIP 222K receiver, DVR and a single receiver. I bought an extra TurboHD Dish 1000.4 to take in the mh. I brought my single receiver from home because it does not have to be hooked up to a phone line. I get satellites 77W, 72.7W and 61.5. I'm in Florida right now and I can watch my local news at home.

RE: K&N F53 questions

I installed the Banks Air Induction kit but after reading all the negative responses about the K&N filter I am using the stock filter.

RE: Toad Braking Systems

ReadyBrake. Less expensive than almost all others (maybe all others) and simple to hook up.

RE: Anyone Else Cold In Florida

We left the Keys yesterday and are in the everglades now. It might be cool but sure beats being at home with all the snow.

RE: Tire Question... how long will they last?

I agree with Cloud Dancer. No one really knows. Last year I replaced my four duals on the back (original 1998 tires). I put the best of the four on the tag axle. Last week I was driving South on I95 and had a blow out on the right rear inside dual.
