RE: Lost my sweet Roxanne today...

Thank you all. Reading your messages does help me tonight.
And I would like to also thank each and every person on this forum who has shared their love stories over the last three years.
By reading all the stories of your furkids since I joined this forum, I learned to:
Hold my kitty a little bit tighter.
Admired my kitty a little bit longer.
Loved my kitty with a bit more gratitude.
And cherished my kitty for each moment of joy she brought to my life.
Reading this forum and sharing in your stories made the last three years with my kitty such a tremendous experience and wonderful chapter.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.

RE: Lost my sweet Roxanne today...

Thank you everyone.
I was just looking at her favorite napping place -- you know, looking at her "paw prints" that she made in the blanket yesterday.
Then it dawned on me -- my kitty left her "paw prints" on my Heart.
I think I will be okay now. For she will be with me no matter where I go -- no matter what I am doing.
What a wonderful gift.

Lost my sweet Roxanne today...

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z165/FLHIker/IMG_3311MyBeautifulRoxanne_Oct2006.jpg
I lost my "heart kitty" this morning. Roxanne would have been 17 in May. She was my only furkid.
She came into my home at the age of 8 weeks and promptly stole my heart.
She pulled on my heart strings every time she jumped into my lap and meowed a funny hello.
She pulled on my heart strings each time she fell asleep by my pillow and then woke me in the morning with "kitty kisses."
She melted my heart just about each and every day for almost 17 years.
Roxanne was funny and feisty and a darn good conversationalist. She have a broad range of chirps, "mrrhs" and meows and she followed me from room to room like a puppy.
Her eye contact was better than most humans I know :)
I knew this day was coming eventually, but this past weekend she started breathing heavy. After two weeks of not eating much (and with her health issues of thyroid, arthritis and a heart murmur)...I had decided last night that I would not let her suffer.
The vet took xrays and found she had a large tumor near her esophogus and lungs. Breathing and eating were painful. Surgery was not possible.
I sobbed all the way to the vet's office to say my good byes and hold her one last time.
She was the perfect kitty for me. She was my amazing grace.
Roxanne, you melted my heart. Love you always, sweet pea.

RE: what are we going to do??

Margie,
How lucky for this little one to find your "Bed and Breakfast" on such a cold evening.
I sure hope you are able to find a kind person who will welcome your little guest into their warm hearts and warm home.

Wow, Margie! Barb and Dr. Doug said it -- what great news and bless you for taking such wonderful care of little Cashew.
(Have we seen a photo of her yet? Did I miss it maybe?)

RE: Florida city to retire to?

Forum on all Cities
They can do some research on this web site. Personally, many of us would love to LEAVE Florida...so there will be lots of property available in a few years when the market even out.

RE: Decision betwn popup and small trailer?

We had to buy a folding tent camper because our existing vehicles could not pull a trailer. So for us, that was the determining factor.
Keep researching and asking questions --- you have come to the right place for some good opinions and experience.
Good luck!

RE: Champ is limping

Glad all seems to be improving.
Our little Boston Terrier was limping for a day and it really concerned us. Like everyone said, dogs can twist their little knees like we can.
Our little maniac probably jumped off the chair the wrong way.
Never a dull moment, eh? :)

RE: Snowflake has gone to the Bridge

Margie,
Sorry I am late reading your post. Snowflake sounds like she adored being a part of the family. And I know this will take some time to get over the shock of such a sudden illness.
So very very sorry.
